McDROID | Xbox One UK Review
New tower defence games – an interesting subgenre of real time strategy – either need to take on the genre behemoth Defense Grid 2, or offer a different take. McDROID takes the latter approach, presenting us with a third person tower defence game that goes big on the art style but displays a few too many niggles to make this a must buy.
McDROID doesn't add anything new to the genre and despite its slick cartoonish presentation it does have a few flaws. If you can look past the niggles – and the uninspiring sound design – there is fun to be had. The more time spent with McDROID the more invested in the game you become.
One for Tower Defence fans, McDROID is a fun distraction but not the game to pick up if you want to get into the Tower Defence scene.
Recommended for fans of the genre.
