DTOID:
One of my favorite things about this current era of gaming is how many artists and designers there are out there who prey on my sense of nostalgia. I loved gaming in the '90s, so I'm always on the lookout for new titles that can strike a chord with my inner child and take me back to simpler times that my rose-tinted brain tries to convince me were so much better than today.
Sadame is set in an alternate dimension during the Japanese Sengoku or warring period. Where a warrior is tasked with ending a demon uprising using their skill and magic to ultimately bring peace to the land. The player gets to choose between four different classes of hero; a samurai, ninja, monk and rogue. Each class has their own attributes and skills that they bring to the party and are so different from each other that you will want to give each one a try. I personally liked the ninja the best, because ninjas are awesome, also the combination of sword, fast-paced shrikes and a long-range chain sickle attack that allowed me to get rid of multiple enemies at once.
"Last February 25, Sadame - a Japanese RPG Action- came to the Nintendo 3DS eShop of Nintendo Europe, filling the great void that is felt in the console catalog in terms of games of this style."
Nintendo Insider: I had expected to enjoy Sadame far more than I ultimately did. Set within an alternate fantasy version of Japan’s Warring States period, its name somewhat simply translates as ‘fate.’
