Asobo Studios has released some images and video showing what they have in store for users with their new HoloLens games.
Young Conker is literally the most depressing thing I've seen in ages. It's like they just shoehorned a famous IP into a tech demo for the attention, what a waste. If he suddenly starts to swear, flings poo, steals your money and sets fire to your furniture I'd reconsider, but unfortunately I doubt it. Disappointing. The tech is impressive, but still, the Conker IP deserves better.
It makes you wonder if they are really trying to push this tech why Halo, Gears of War, Killer Instinct, Titanfall or so were not used.
The consumer version was pretty much delayed indefinitely a few days ago. http://news.softpedia.com/n...
Think Titian fall will not be on this if anything , first parties yes no 3rd parties.
Why is everyone losing their minds (on Twitter) over a tech demo ? It literally has no effect on whether we're getting a new Conker game on Console or not. It's a business decision... Sony are using the success of Until Dawn to further a On-rails horror game for VR. It's smart marketing.
Exactly, MS lent this character to this dev to make a game for Hololens. That's pretty much where that ends, people should be more interested with what the game is doing with Hololens.
@Gangsta Exactly. I hope we see a new Conker game on console. But just accept this fr what it is, impressive tech using a Xbox character to demonstrate it.
I agree 100% but i'm of the mind set that this is purely just tech demo for developers.
Enough already take my money
Really? I know your a MS supporter, but I don't see anything appealing with this product. Im sure the tech will get better over time, but right now, not feeling it.
That's the thing the Unknown is a lot more interesting than the Known and with the right people making apps the possibilities are endless.
All these videos and images of Hololens are so misleading. Why can't they just show what it really looks like when you see through the lens? This is a disrespect to the consumer.
It did show you, you can see objects disappearing around the edge of the rectangular view space, one time conker even walks out of view. That's as honest as it gets. Showing off its biggest flaw.
But why even show those other videos and pics of then?? It confuses and misleads people.
The space needed for this to properly work is even bigger than kinects and that is not good. Looking at my living room is not what I would call immersive and that is one of the reasons VR is more interesting for me. When I see companies like Facebook, Google, Samsung, HTC, recognized developers working on software and the industry working on AR content as with what is exactly happening right now with VR, then I may pay attention to this.
Your comment just shows how misleading their videos are. What they are showing you here is NOT how it really looks like when you have the lens on. In fact, you don't need too much space. Kinect requires a lot more space to be used than Hololens. The field of view in Hololens is VERY small and that's one of its biggest downsides.
what a load of bs
HoloLens is much more exciting than those VR devices. Too bad it costs 3K...
