The Blade's Will Harrison: Slashing claws, putrid bites, and swinging swords are common dangers in dungeon-crawling role-playing games. While these are a detriment to a character’s health in Darkest Dungeon, it turns out the most dangerous thing of all was my archer’s blood pressure levels.

I'm the critic who wrote this piece, and I just wanted to say that I am supremely happy any time I can spotlight indie games that have a real cross-over appeal to my more casual readers.

Darkest Dungeon has some issues and doesn't always play fair -- much like X-COM 2 -- but it's an experience worth paying for.
