A lot of people missed out on this game. Hope it brings more gamers to it. Kind of underrated, whilst not the best Zelda it is still really good.

Geobros3420d ago

This is the most successful Zelda I think, with more sales than any other game of the series.

GameTechZero3420d ago

Ah I am only speaking from personal experience. I know a few who did not get a Wii or wouldn't buy it on GameCube. They missed out

ShadowKnight3420d ago

Yup, can't wait to play it again!!!

Moonman3420d ago

I haven't played it yet (only waiting for it to be in HD) and I am going to get real comfy and enjoy it on my Wii U!!!!

Number-Nine3420d ago

Twilight Princess was a phenomenal game and this HD version seems to be a great improvement.

Eamon3420d ago

My favourite Zelda game. But I am unimpressed by the "upgrades." This isn't like Wind Waker HD whose remaster looked fantastic.

It's better to play the original on a Wii emulator with the HD texture mod.

Stealth20k3420d ago

Considering this looks better than an emulator, and it has improvements.

Condoning piracy is low and stupid.

Eamon3420d ago

You're the only one who said anything about piracy.

I still have my copy from nearly 10 years ago.

DarkKaine3419d ago

This does not look better.
The HD 'remake' does 1080p and hi-res textures.
Dolphin does that and adds AA, AF and other optimizations and you're not restricted to any resolution. TP HD is a pathetic upgrade to say the least.

MadLad3420d ago (Edited 3420d ago )

You'll get disagrees because of the whole emulation thing, but you aren't wrong.

I played this via emulator, 4k with a 360 controller, and it was a fantastic experience.

This does little to improve on that.

SilverClock3419d ago

Yeah I see all these disagrees and not a one of them trying to prove you wrong. I'd love to see someone try to do it with hard facts instead of just baseless disagreement. News flash: You can own the game and play it on the Dolphin emulator too, people. You can even own a Wii U and a Wii at the same time.
The gameplay improvements are not what is being debated here, it's the quality of the HD face-lift. (which isn't very good imo)

herbs3420d ago

The graphical upgrades are underwhelming but the gameplay improvements you choose to ignore obviously make the game superior to whats currently available on Dolphin. There is a mod currently in development on Dolphin that is very ambitious includes substantial graphical and gameplay upgrades that will probably be superior though, if it doesn't get shut down that is.

Stealth20k3419d ago

Game looks fantastic will be a big seller

SilverClock3419d ago

Surely they would make it so you wouldn't be prompted every time you found a new rupee this time. Surely.

Where Are The Wind Waker And Twilight Princess Switch Remasters At?

Nintendo is a weird company. It has the most illustrious legacy of any single company in the medium and seldom chooses to take advantage of that fact. Countless classics are confined to their original platforms or only available through outdated retail models or a cheeky bit of emulation.

I want a Twilight Princess HD for the Switch I would day one it right now.

GoodGuy09997d ago

This holiday would've been great and it would've calmed my hunger for tears of the kingdom. It supposedly exists but why has it taken this long I wonder. Here's hoping it still releases before totk, maybe a trailer at the game awards and a shadow drop.

Double_O_Revan997d ago

I wouldn't hope too hard. The Metroid Prime Trilogy or even just Prime 1 remaster supposedly exists and has been complete for several years now. Either Nintendo are evil bastards, or everyone claiming it's existence is full of shit. Frankly, I believe both scenarios to be true.

Immagaiden997d ago

Wii U was such a great to play every 3D Zelda game and various 2D ones as well

It'd be nice if Switch caught up to that wealth of legacy content

Inverno996d ago

Booted up WW HD through emulation on Deck. Forgot how much I like that game, it's so charming with how expressive Link is. Ninty has taken too long.

ZeekQuattro996d ago

Nintendo wants the focus on tears of the kingdom. Though with these year Zelda old rumors I question if the collection ever existed for the Switch. Much like the Prime Trilogy that evolved into a remake or remaster of just Prime 1 in recent months.

I am a huge Zelda fan and love them all, but for me Ocarina Of Time is the greatest and my second all time favourite game after Final Fantasy VII.

LoveSpuds1027d ago (Edited 1027d ago )

You sir, have good taste in games :)

I also love all of the Zelda games but I adore Windwaker (Specifically the HD version on WiiU) most of all. It is a close run thing with Breath of the Wild though.

Special mention to Cadence of Hyrule too, what an awesome spin off title that was!

GaboonViper1026d ago

Cheers Spuds, yep i love Windwaker too, beautiful artstyle, and i loved sailing and finding all the secrets out there.

blackbeld1026d ago

Agreed. For me top 3 of all time is.

1. ocarina of time
2. Final fantasy Vll
3. MGS1

GaboonViper1026d ago

Brilliant top 3, would love a MGS1 remake that has been rumoured.

LoveSpuds1026d ago

Yup, hard to argue with that top 3 squire, some quality games right there!

-Foxtrot1028d ago

Oh gee can't imagine what Number 1 is

....

A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker etc is better than Breath of the Wild.

lockedongamer11028d ago

I respectfully disagree, but they're all great games.

porkChop1027d ago

I think it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want a traditional Zelda game then OoT or WW would be better to you. But if you want a Zelda game that really leans into adventure and exploration, and if you want intelligent systems/logic, BotW would be the better game.

I enjoy both. I understand why some people aren't fond of it but for me it was a breath of fresh air that I really needed. I'd become so burnt out on unimaginative games and BotW sort of made me appreciate games again, as weird as that may sound.

godofboobees1027d ago

Those are not traditional Zelda games

Crows901026d ago

Right...so let's pretend ocarina of time didnt have exploration, secret dungeons and other secrets. Complex boss mechanics and exploration rewards. At least a traditional Zelda has dungeons.

porkChop1026d ago

What point are you attempting to make? At no point did I say that OoT didn't have any of that. However, the level of exploration and sense of adventure are vastly different between OoT and BotW.

Brazz1027d ago

Breath of the Wild is overrated as shot, Wind waker is much better.

P_Bomb1027d ago

I’m a Link to the Past guy.

MadLad1027d ago

Majora's Mask still holds as my favorite to this day, despite being the black sheep of the series.

pietro12121027d ago

I love them all, but Wind Walker, Link to the Past and Minish Cap are my favorites

John_McClane1026d ago

Link to the Past was so, so good! Those chickens though! 🤣
