Are Assassin’s Creed: Empire and Project Osiris Somehow Connected?

OnlySP: I know, I know: you’re all as tired of Assassin’s Creed-related news as a grumpy old man is of yelling at kids to get off his lawn. But tell me honestly: is the albeit-small chance for an Assassin’s Creed in Egypt involving a “complete revamp” with an ancient Egyptian setting and timeline not tempting enough to get your interests piqued?

No. Osiris was a scrapped game that took place in Egypt. Empire is an AC game in Egypt, similarities end there.

Khaotic3388d ago

Not if they repurposed the the scrapped game, which alot of devs do, and used assets and level design from osiris and build upon for another title. Just saying you sound so positive but in all reality you dont have a clue if they are similiar or not. You have an opinion and speculation but thats it.

GreetingsfromCanada3388d ago

Osiris was a 360/PS3 game likely built on the old Anvil engine. The assets would be dated and on a completely different engine.

KTF263388d ago

@GreetingsfromCanada
First AnvilNext game was AC3 on XB360/PS3 consoles

KTF263388d ago

I remember they said it has been shelved not scrapped

Khaotic3388d ago

Games are remastered all the time from old gens to current ones. Arguments still not valid :)

GreetingsfromCanada3388d ago

The engines are the same in those cases and many assets are redone with far higher polygon counts. It would be stupid to try to port the assets and completely redo them. Keep in mind Osiris was likely supposed to come out in 2012 or 2013, so it would look like horrible by 2017. (AC Empire's supposed release year)

Khaotic3388d ago (Edited 3388d ago )

I would love an AC egypt. I havnt played one since AC2.

Liqu1d3388d ago

I really hope they revamp the franchise.

Khaotic3388d ago

I know, there are so many locations and time periods that would be so awesome. If they did an every other year release with locations like ancient egypyt, japan, china, maybe even roman and mix in some colliseium action. They could be set for 10 years and each entry could sell 10 to 15 million

deaddragonz3388d ago

I like the colliseium idea.

The_Blue3388d ago

Ubisoft is going to white wash the Egyptian s and make them looks like Turks/Arabs.

Before you get upset at my post, tell me how the Egyptiansystem felt about Asiatics.

TeamLeaptrade3387d ago

I sure do hope they take 2016 off and wait until 2017 to release a new AC like they said in the article. A break would be nice.

Why the Modern Day Plot is Vital to Assassin's Creed

Fans attribute Assassin's Creed's problems to a number of key issues. There were certainly some frustrating moments plus at times, some glaring technical issues. And a lot of blame is placed on the series' modern day components.

But the modern day plot in Assassin's Creed is exactly what makes the series so fantastic.

I cant be arsed to read another article about ac but the response to the headline is obvious: Without the modern day element its just a stealth game. It has to have the modern day element to be part of ac on my opinion. I think they've strayed a bit in the last few games for that reason.

Personally To hell with Pacther , ego maniac

LordMaim2959d ago

I don't know about him being an egomaniac, but I don't know how he got to be this visible figure. His track record is spotty at best.
