‘Lovely Planet’ Xbox One Review | Entertainment Buddha
EB: Ultimately, success in Lovely Planet is about the repetition of fine motor skills, reaction time, and either innate ability or patient practice. Then again, the same could be said about beating the bosses in Bloodborne or reaching the upper echelons of Call of Duty. Lovely Planet on Xbox One has a smooth, zippy framerate — you can’t blame the console for not hitting the targets or timing the jumps — and its game mechanics and visual design that are what they are. Despite its colorful, welcoming look, Lovely Planet is not a casual game, but a challenging platformer for gamers who don’t care much about story, characters, or emotion and just enjoy chasing that perfect run and beating their own performance again and again.
