Looks fun but please, Ubisoft, do a better job with your target renders in the future. By "better job" I mean "more representative of the final product". Stop with the wow factor reveal videos that anyone who pays attention knows you'll never live up to.

VerminSC3024d ago

Exactly. Everyone would be more excited about this game if they showed this to begin with. It still looks great but people feel betrayed because of the downgrade in graphics.

kraenk123024d ago

How can you even talk about a downgrade when you don't even know how the game looks on a high end PC?!

KarmaV123024d ago

Games are generally shown off a year, at least, ahead of release. How could they know the precise amount of graphical fidelity and features could be handled on a product shown so far from release?

This argument is always towards them and I don't understand it. Often, they reveal their game well, well ahead of release, meaning the game is probably being made on PC first then shrunk down and rebuilt on consoles. Therefore when they show it, it will NEVER be what you see as the final product. Tweaks are made up until the game launches and even after.

A game like Fallout, revealed a few months before release, there you go you get the expected quality. And what happened with that? People complained it looked like garbage. So either way, devs can never get it right.

All I'm saying, try to understand the development process. Next time you see a Ubisoft game, expect those are PC graphics. And that goes for more than just their games. If you want ultimate quality like they show off, get a PC that could handle it. Don't expect to see the individual snowflakes on a budget gaming system.

"This argument is always towards them and I don't understand it."

Ubisoft is easily the downgrade poster child for this generation.

"Next time you see a Ubisoft game, expect those are PC graphics."

I've known that for years, but I still say it's deceptive to show visual quality that even relatively few PC gamers will see. I understand the marketing aspect, but marketing is often deceptive.

Hercules1893024d ago

The game looks better than last years version, and people with certain PCs can get closer to the reveal render. This is still considered one of the best looking games.

Pongwater3024d ago

I think it still looks very nice and I will be buying it, but for marketing hype purposes Ubisoft insists on showing quality that even relatively few PC gamers will see. That's what I have a problem with even though I understand why they do it. Lots of marketing is full of it.

Rimeskeem3024d ago

This looks nothing like the reveal. The snow looks like crap now and the building look very plastic like compared to the reveal.

The map does seem a little small?

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno384d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic384d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman384d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon384d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
