I played the preview on Xbox one(one hour trial) had no friggen idea what to do... Then I watched some videos and purchased the game last night and had an absolute blast with my three hours. I then tried to log on after work and every server including the one I was on was full. I really hope they add many more servers as its a real bummer to get home from work and try to play only to see you can't.

With that being said I can't wait to try and tame my first animal tonight

Sling shot and lots and lots of food. It's even better once guns are involved and people you fight all have flying mounts. Great game. Reminds me of Day Z before it got popular.

Yeah I have to level up and unlock the slingshot and club for taming last night my one goal was to make myself a 3x3 shack with a bed and storage so I could stop randomly spawning on a beach with nothing.

Any opinions on what to go after first? Besides the obligatory dodo

I'd go after a dilophosaurus first. Won't take too long to tame and you it can help protect you a bit. Make sure if you're on pvp servers that you hide your shack as best you can. Put it on the beach and you'll still probably wake up dead when you sign in again. It's an awesome game, but be patient until you find a tribe to take you in. There are a lot of raiders on most servers! Also make sure you have plenty of narcoberries!

I read some place yesterday that it has more players logging on on Xbox one now than it has on pc!

A trike is really good to have just. Use a frog to knock it out tho. So a frog would be good your Guna need raw meat and lots of narcoberrys. When you do get a trike you will have no more food problems for you because they gather Berrys by the hundreds. Frogs are found by swamps so lookout for titanboas and sarcos
Don't remember when you can make a frog saddle. I think trike is 15

I started by training a Phiomia. It's a herbivore so is easy to tame, and seems to have a lot of base health so can win battles with other Dinos through perseverance. It's also the first Dino you can craft a saddle for as the engram unlocks at an early level. Riding it is fun for a bit but it's way too slow to realistically be of any use!

Advice for noobs go to Carno island all the way north east and just circle the island killings Dino's fastest way to level. Your welcome. Shocked Xbox can run this btw it is hard on even my pc.
