Earlier today, fans of EA Sports' NCAA Football series came out of the woodwork when the publisher posted to the game series' Facebook page for the first time in one and a half years.
This led to rampant speculation among fans of the cancelled series that it would make a return, but EA has since offered clarification that the came may not be making a return in the foreseeable future.
PG:We spoke with executive vice president of EA Studios Patrick Soderlund recently about the recent turmoil and the future of EA's long-running sports franchises, including Madden.
IGN:As part of its latest quarterly financial report, Electronic Arts has announced the settlement it reached in a lawsuit brought against the company by college athletes cost it about $40 million.
AL:Electronic Arts Sports and Collegiate Licensing Company have settled all claims brought against them by plaintiffs in the Sam Keller and Ed O'Bannon lawsuit over the use of college athletes' names, images and likenesses, according to a court filing today.
That really just broke my heart.
EA sucks. They paid exclusive rights to not even use them anymore. Where is 2K when you need them?
EA have no new plans for FIFA or Madden either. Doesn't stop them releasing at least 1 new version every year ;)
