Why I Couldn’t Finish Undertale

It's a little overrated as a game

I haven't found the appeal either and I'm a huge Earthbound fan.

It's definitely not for me, but I can sort of see why people like it. I watched my boyfriend play a bit of it, and it's funny, and there are a lot of things you can do that you just can't do in other games. The developer really put a lot of thought into giving the player as much choice as possible in areas that don't usually give the player that much freedom, but I can't imagine that the story would ever hold my interest. I'm pretty sick of games that try to coast on ironic humor and quirky characters.

Whether or not I agree with his opinion bad article is bad, for two reasons.
In the article, by his own admission he states he only played to the first boss before giving up, which means he only finished the tutorial. It takes more than finishing the tutorial of a game, nevermind an RPG to judge a game.
Second, he quotes a portion of a Yahtzee review to backup his viewpoint, not only leaving out the context, but didn't even include the full sentence. In the quote Yahtzee calls the graphics generic to just plain bad. Yahtzee's overall review was absolutely glowing and he called it one of the most well written games of the year. The article just quotes the "generic to plain bad" to insinuate he felt this way about the full game.

You can feel however you want about a game, but don't misrepresent other people to validate your own opinion.

I got it last week and I personally loved it.
Insane characters, solid story, Amazing Soundtrack, and by far the funniest game I've ever played. I cant say I've played anything like it.

To be honest, the only thing that I feell that actually caught people's attention on this game is how the story starts slow and childish-like and on 3/4 of the game it takes a full blow plot twist and becomes moody and dramatic, because aside from the story and dialog, everything else about this game lacks intensity.

Now, getting to the point, it's by far one of the most interesting and emotional stories I've ever read in my life, but it's really sad that, as a game, it couldn't live up to the story.

The story wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for the gameplay. It's one of the few rare games where the battle system gives character not only to the bosses, but also to every enemy that you'll encounter along the way. There's more but that would be going into spoiler territory.

So he got as far as the end of the prologue before he stopped playing. That's like writing a negative review of Bioshock before even reaching Rapture lol.
