Depends...

If I spend $600 dollars and plug Oculus to my P4,I think my experience is going to suck. But if I buy and plug PSVR to my PS4,I might have a great experience.Lol.

Answered my own question.

jb2273409d ago

Yeah, same here...at least for me I'd love to try the Oculus, but my PC is actually a Mac and it's nowhere near capable of running it, but my ps4 should do fine w/ PSVR.

I know there are many more PCs in the wild than every console combined, but it'd be interesting to hear the statistics on how many PCs are out there that could run the Oculus. I think the numbers are skewed in that regard in having sales projections for the Oculus near 7 million & projections for the PSVR south of 2

"Which is the Best Experience for You?"

If you have a PS4, get the PSVR.

If you have a capable gaming PC, get the Oculus Rift.

If you have both and money is a factor, think of what games you prefer.

If you have both and money isn't a factor, get both.

What a pointless article. Obviously people with a PS4 and no PC or a weak one will go for the PSVR. People with a powerful PC will go for Rift. Plus very few people have even tried VR. Hard to judge new tech like this without trying it out. Now I have a PC that is more than capable of running Rift and my best friend has a PS4. Guess we'll just have to wait for stores to setup demos. Not dropping hundreds on a product that I might not like or could give me health issues without taking it for a spin.

Quick question that I haven't really seen outlined much yet, how much does it cost to build a PC that can run Oculus in a decent manner for at least a year or so? I saw that Oculus is offering a $1500 bundle w/ the Rift & capable PC but the press release said you could run Oculus for less...just wondering if a $1000 PC is the actual entry point or if it can be ran significantly cheaper?

crazychris41243408d ago

Probably around $1k, go on pcparkpicker or tomshardware for help

I'm buying all 3. PSVR, oculus rift, and HTC vive. PSVR for exclusives. Oculus and vive to test both them and I expect valve and oculus will have There exclusives to.

@crazychris

Thanks for the heads up, I did a little digging & came up w/ the same, thanks for the links...I'd like to save up to check out Oculus and maybe pick up some of the PC gaming experiences I've missed out on for sure. The Climb alone has me tempted for the Oculus because they said that would be PC only & that one honestly is the most intriguing VR title for my tastes...it'd be cool to be able to see something similar for the climbing & platforming sections for something like Uncharted or TR one day.

What a dumb article, these VR headsets are not even out yet. People with ps4 will likely choose psvr, people with a good pc will likely choose Octulus.

SweatyFlorida3409d ago

Yah it really is that simple.

Though there's a lot of people who don't have either a PS4 nor a PC capable of running Rift "Good", they are the people in limbo right now, these are the people Sony and Oculus (and Vive) need to convince, among people who aren't into any gaming at all.

nosferatuzodd3409d ago

You got it but don't be so hard on the writer he's just trying to get some hits lol

ApocalypseShadow3408d ago

I got it too.i was just trying to be funny about it earlier.

slappy5083409d ago

Well my PC is oculus ready. Just waiting to see if psvr is cheaper before I decide which one too buy. I suspect psvr will have slightly more games too

deanparadise3407d ago (Edited 3407d ago )

I doubt PSVR will have more games... there are already at least 271 in development for Oculus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

What will be interesting to see is which one has more "quality" games.

Also, Oculus (and Vive) will be the only one providing VR porn. So there's that...

Yeah. Not the best dev by a long shot, but I've heard Bulletstorm improved a lot after the initial launch and all the complaints.

Abnor_Mal58d ago

I bought Bulletstorm VR but couldn’t get into it at the time, the controls were a bit off, but at the time I was finishing up Arizona Sunshine1/2. Most likely the reason the controls felt off, plan to go back to it soon.

jjb198158d ago

I really wanted to love Outriders. I was hooked on it at first but it was so janky the further I got into it. I had to force myself to finish the game. I liked it just enough to buy the expansion but I burned through that jankfest also. It sorta gave me Division 2 vibes a little bit and that's what helped me through it. I don't think I would trust any of their VR stuff anyway.

Playing it right now looks amazing! :D
so much fun, i hope they make a vr mod for crysis 2 / 3 too!

DivineHand125106d ago

This is amazing. This is the direction VR should go in to boost adoption. Since I have beaten every Crysis except 1, this is now a good excuse to correct that problem.
