Game Idealist's list of the most anticipated fighting games for 2016.
Trevor Walker said: Fighting games have always been able to simultaneously experiment and innovate while staying true to their roots in the best of ways. Mechanics change, crossovers take place, and evolution occurs. One of the best examples of all three can be seen in the coveted guest character.
The newest Tekken title is out soon and signifies a massive leap over Tekken 7. Here are some of the biggest game-changing differences.
Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.
Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.
SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.
SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.
I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.
Where's Battle Arena Toshinden??
Cant wait for SFV and GG Xrd Revelator
I still need to see more from Tekken before I can be excited for it.
They need to make another pure Marvel superheroes fighter. DC has injustice, What does Marvel have(vs street fighter doesn't count)?
I loved X-men mutant academy and mutant academy 2 back on ps1. An updated next gen version of that would rock.
Also, a bit sad that all of these games are Japanese developers. Not that there's anything wrong with Japanese games, I love them, but it would be nice to see at least one western developer make something that isn't a shooter or Assassins Creed(yes I'm exaggerating).
