SOMA is a first-person survival horror game straight out of science fiction. You play as Simon Jarrett, a recent victim of a car crash that claimed the life of his friend Ashley and damaged Simon’s brain. Working with a doctor, Jarrett plans to get a scan to see if the damage to his brain can be repaired. During the scan however, he blacks out.

I have seen nothing but awesome scores for this game. I may have to finally pull the trigger.

Do it. It's incredible. Scifi horror done right. It's scary and has an amazing story. Underwater settings are underused and this nails it with it's incredible atmosphere.

Yeah, that story takes you by surprise. It's criminal it's not getting any "best story of the year" awards. When I say it's "thought provoking," I really mean it.

Sometimes people throw that term around loosely when something covers heavy themes, but I literally sat and thought about real world implications after I played this game.

This is the whole problem here.. Best game of the year and nobody's heard of it. Been following this since the day it was announced.

The only thing that bums me about this game is its unavailability on Asian PSN Stores. The devs and Shuhei Yoshida have yet to reply to my tweets regarding this matter. Maybe they (the devs) don't have the resources for Asian translation?

If you are good with English, then maybe you should setup a PSN NA account (Can/US) and then purchase the game and play the game that way.

My English is good, as far as I'm concerned. It's more of a purchasing issue to be honest. My credit card can only be used on the HK store. However, I can always buy a US PSN card.

+VsAssassin I would consider the option of getting a US PSN card. Like you said, neither the devs or Shuhei Yoshida gave a time frame when it will be ported, if ever. I know many games on the Asian/Japanese PSN I would like to see come over, but usually never happen....

I was expecting this game to be like outlast at first and when it wasn't, at first I was disappointed but the deeper I got the more I loved and appreciated it for being more unique and psychologically thrilling as opposed to relying primarily on jump scares. Definitely a must buy.
