King’s Quest Chapter 2: Rubble Without a Cause Review | Entertainment Buddha
EB: The Odd Gentlemen did a bang up job bringing the King’s Quest franchise into modern times with its first chapter, A Knight to Remember, which I found to be utterly excellent and damn near perfect, but unfortunately those sentiments of mine didn’t carry over to the latest chapter to be released, Rubble Without a Cause. This chapter in the series forgoes the open-world feel of the first for a more intimate adventure involving King Graham being kidnapped by goblins and locked away in a cave along with a few of his friends from his first adventure. This scenario may sound exciting, and it does offer a completely different gameplay experience that is almost 100% puzzle based, but the allure of Graham’s prison escape quickly wears off after the first 30 minutes of gameplay thanks to the inevitable repetitiveness that the experience offers.
