You are old. These JRPGs are 10 Years Old in 2016 [Top 10]

The best JRPG of 2006 is not Twilight Princess, but a swan song that got cancelled multiple times before finding its home on a handheld about to die. Clue: Shigesato Itoi

Twilight Princess isn't a jrpg.

Spenok3466d ago (Edited 3466d ago )

It's an Action adventure RPG... sort of.

wonderwall973466d ago

Its a JRRG. J - Because it is Japanese-made. RPG - because you take on the role of Link as he travels to god knows where.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3466d ago

No it's an Action Adventure with RPG elements.

Hoffmann3467d ago

Zelda games are not j-rpg's. They are action adventures.

You are a Ancient gamer if you recognized this.

Wild Arms turns 20yrs old in 2016

Lunar turns 20yrs old in 2016

Arc the lad turns 20yrs old in 2016

Persona turns 20yrs old in 2016

Kyosuke_Sanada3466d ago

The first three Persona games were creepy as hell. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the series will return to that direction.

SuicidalTendencies3466d ago

Thanks for making me feel even older. I was still a teenager when those games came out.

lodossrage3466d ago

I'm not sure about most of your list Pancit, but I'm sure Lunar is older than both Arc the lad and Wild arms. Those were both PS1 games.

I know Lunar was on the PS1 as well. But it was on the Sega CD first which came out before the PS1/Saturn/N64 began.

JunMei3466d ago

I really wish they remade Lunar 2 after the remake of the first.

NE: "EarthBound fans got lots of news in 2024, but a Mother 3 localization wasn't part of it. We talk whether it's possible with pros and cons."

Pro: More people getting to experience a game they weren't able to before.
Con: Hearing either Lucas or Ness yell "PK fire" ever again.

Earthbound Creator Says Nintendo Considered Mother 3 Translation, But It Was Complicated

IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."

Zenzuu560d ago

They should remake Earthbound, and bring it to modern platforms.

meganick559d ago

A translated version of this game on Switch Online would be nice, and it would add a lot value to the Expansion Pak service.

jznrpg559d ago

Bring it already. Nintendo is frustrating at times

jjb1981559d ago

I would love to see an Earthbound game just redone with 3D-ish models and characters. Just having a remaster for Switch Online would be awesome!

FinalFantasyFanatic559d ago

Did you ever see the Earthbound 64 concept/materials? That actually looked really good, but I'd also take a HD-2D remake as well.

FinalFantasyFanatic559d ago

Nintendo seems very whimsical about what they give they're fans, sometimes they'll give them a bone (e.g. Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door for the Switch), and other times, they just give them little to nothing (agh, the Zelda anniversary).

When you consider the cost of gaming back then and even now, no excuses when costs are involved.

Twilight Princess’ Hyrule Field Is Boring, Empty, And Excellent

TheGamer Writes "In my experience, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ once-warm reception has chilled somewhat over the years. Praised at launch as a beautiful return to form after the “childish” art style of its direct predecessor, the world eagerly embraced a game that more closely followed Ocarina of Time’s famous structure and plot cues. Perhaps most alluringly of all, the grandeur and sheer scope of this reimagined Hyrule Field wowed millions of us."
