Starbound is a 2D sidescrolling indie sandbox game, that is more or less a Sci-Fi meets Terraria type of thing.
The latest episode of Dev Diary is a chat with Adam Riches from Chucklefish studios about his work on Wargroove, Starbound and more.
Terraria was a smash hit selling ten million units and still growing, and not only showing that Re-Logic was a force to be reckoned with but it also showed that Minecraft did not have to be the only building game. Rather than going for a straight clone of Minecraft, Terraria moved to a 2D adventure game, that had a wealth of combat, and bosses as well as a more meaningful progression than Minecraft. Overall, Terraria was an impressive game.

Wow... Combat is one of the weakest areas in terraria, this looks full of variety!
I've been checking the chucklefish website every few months for what feels like 2 years to see when the game will be complete and on PS4/vita. I have it on PC, but I want a console version so I can play with my girlfriend, who hates playing games on keyboard. They said in a recent AMA that console was still a "high priority," for what it's worth. I know it's kind of ridiculous to be so obsessive about it, but I'm a huge terraria fan, and I really like what I've played of it on PC.
