Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is among one of the first games which we have posibility to play on PlayStation 4.
Check this graphics comparison showing how much better the games looks like running on much more powersful hardware.
There are some games on the PS2 that really pushed the capabilities of the PS2 itself to their limits.
Did they really skip Shadow of the Colossus? I would definitely swap Dark Cloud for that.
god of war 2 looked better than most of the launch games, just like last of us 1 ,kz2 and god of war 3 looking better than a bunch of launch ps4 games, and kz2 for reason looks just as good in 2024, that game had some black magic
Eight seminal games were released on the gaming market between October 26 and November 23, 2004. Twenty years later, here's Wccftech's retrospective.
You're not gonna include Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal or Jak 3 on that list? Just change it to Fall 2004 Releases and include the masterpiece that is Sly 2.
With plenty of open world games to choose from on the PlayStation 2, narrowing down the list to just the 15 best is quite the difficult task.
Gotbto give Sony props where its due. Looks pretty darn good considering the APU they are working with.
Still with proper plug ins, even a mid range gaming laptop running PCSX2 looks better. Still, a mid range gaming laptop costs about $150 more than the PS4 does right now.
Good job Sony. Not bad, not bad at all.
Useless for me, but good for those that are interested in purchasing their PS2 games yet again.
It does look a little better on PS4. I didn't expect that, I thought they would just be straight transfers. So that's actually a plus I guess.
Not sure if there's anything I would want to try again from PS2. I'll probably do Vice City, just driving around with some of that music is always epic. I'm sure I'll think of some others just to get the feeling of nostalgia and maybe there was something interesting I never tried.
If they ever release Manhunt 2, I never tried that, I actually liked the first one, which I know a lot of people didn't. Actually, just last week I was thinking of buying Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Cruse of Darkness from the PS3 store, actually, Curse of Darkness they didn't have.
How did they look on PS3?
Really only slightly better and it may be due to the 16:9 vs 4:3 ratio?? Does this display the original aspect ratio on screen or it is enhanced for widescreen?
$15 for PS2 games are Grand Sony Theft.
