Game Censorship - Tecmo Koei and Idea Factory

With Idea Factory being the latest to join in the prevention of title localization in the West due to censorship issues, gamers need to address the idea of censorship and how it applies to change the games industry.

Following the debacle with Tecmo Koei's Xtreme Volleyball title, it seems that with this more developers are starting to follow suit.

It makes me wonder if the ESRB and PEGI are full of SJWs who threaten an AO rating. I doubt people who work for a living, and are actually productive, have the time to pay attention to "social media". So who are the ones pushing to censor?

ESRB and PEGI have nothing to do with this though. It is the decision of the localizing company to censor. This is why Senran Kagura gets away with not being censored. Their content is just as questionable as the rest, but the difference is that the people in charge of localizing it did NOT want to censor it. IFI decides to censor because they have personal morals against the games they localize, which has nothing to do with the ESRB.

Look at it this way friend, because of this we may actually get more English language Asia versions, of course this will mean importing, but that also means that we cut out the middle man of some of the more cancerous localisation studios (NISA for example) who add in unnecessary memes and unfunny jokes for reasons known only themselves (probably to appeal to casual plebs).
