Remember when users could create themes on PS3 for free for other users to download? Pepperidgefarmsremembers.jpg

My first thought everytime I see the charged for themes. Why they can't support user generated ones still/again is beyond me... Guess money talks.

viperman2403436d ago

I wonder if down the line Sony will allow users to do that again.

You should be able to, I download the free themes from the Japanese PSN and they work perfectly fine on my UK account

Is really a good theme but the tiles is where they lost me. I hope they could update it or make a version without those tiles.

80’s Anime-Inspired Runner Revealed for PC VR & PlayStation VR 2

No release date just yet.

PSVR2 is really racking up the catalogue now - the future is bright!

ApocalypseShadow1485d ago

Yeah. It's crazy and it's not even officially announced. Just controllers. I still get this feeling that games like GTA 5 are going to be in VR in some capacity. My gut seems to keep saying that there will be a Spider-Man VR game launching besides GT 7 in its first year. But even Indie games like this and Low-Fi still impress me even if they're not fully optimized yet for PS5. I like its retro vibe this one is giving.

PSVR 2 is going to come out swinging hard. Gamers who thought VR was a gimmick or Sony was abandoning VR are choking on their own spit.

My man!

Spriggan would be amazing. So excited for the new anime. Could not believe it when I saw that.

These guys are fans of Akira with that bike. Nice touch cluing us in with Otomo on the bike.

ApocalypseShadow1484d ago

Yeah. I'd kill for an Akira type game. This will have to do.

But then, I'd also kill for a Spriggan type game.

Here Is What a PS4 Theme Running at Native 4K Resolution Would Look Like

I saw video just to hear the beginning.... i miss that sound......

Rude-ro2448d ago

They do have native 4k themes though 🤔

Abriael2448d ago

They don't. They're upscaled from 1080p.

Rude-ro2448d ago

Cool. I like how the 4k listed themes are larger in file size than normal themes.
Must be offering both the 1080p version and the 1080p upscaled versions then. They look fantastic either way.
So how did you test all the 4k listed themes?

Abriael2448d ago (Edited 2448d ago )

@Rude-ro: I don't need to. I know I can trust Truant Pixel, since they're by far the best theme developers on the market, and they put a lot of effort in their themes. I'm pretty sure they know how themes work.

From the description of the video: "The console theme software does not run the dashboard at 4K, rather it upscales content that is rendered internally at 1080p (hence why themes that claim to be "true 4K" are not, and why we only mark our themes as "4K friendly" or "ready". They will upscale cleanly, but are not native)."

On the other hand, I certainly don't trust those that pollute the PlayStation store with low-effort trash and then claim it's "true 4K."
