15 classic PS2 games we want on PS4

Sony has worked out how to emulate PS2 games on PS4. That’s good news, and a swift reply to Microsoft’s recent noise about its impressive backwards compatibility. And that got us thinking… what classic games would be great to replay on PS4? And can we condense these brilliant games into an easily digestible list of, say, 15?

We applied a few rules when creating this list, so please read before heading to the comments and informing us that we ‘missed X, Y, and Z’. Anything that already has an HD version is off the menu. No Resi 4, no Prince of Persia: SOT, no Silent Hill 2 (yes, we know there were some problems with this one). Secondly, we prioritised games that would a) be genuinely fun to play right now, and b) provide experiences that are very different to anything available on PS4.

..has anyone ever played Shadow of Rome ?? ..i see lists and lists of PS2 classics or want-to-see-again PS2 titles but never Shadow of Rome...the game was so fun addictive and well made (longevity, atmosphere, graphics controls) that i dont understand why so many people ignore its existence ...literally one hell of a game and one of the best Capcom games along with the Monster Hunter from that era

Main reason I don't buy PS2 classics off PSN is because there is no added benefit for me, trophies would really affect my decision, though. But I believe developers/rights owners would have to be involved with getting trophies implemented into their games and there are probably a lot of PS2 titles that will be on PS4 without trophies due to the age of the titles, pricing, and demand.

I hope in the coming years, publishers push out new IPs like they used to.. I remember buying these games and they didnt need patches, dlc, season passes, etc.. They were complete games with content.. Now everything is so different.. Sometimes for the better but publishers see the internet age as a way to scam money out of you and rush out incomplete titles that not only require full installs, but hefty patches as well.

War of the monsters was a fun game and I always wanted to beat Shinobi, it was cool for its time lol
