It’s difficult to overstate how historically important System Shock is. Ever play an atmospheric shooter that told it’s story through environment and audio logs? That sounds like every shooter made after Bioshock(which is a spiritual sequel to System Shock), but the practice started started here. Spooky atmosphere and horror elements in an FPS go back as far as Doom, but System Shock mastered the concepts, proving that a game can give you a gun and the heebejeebies without playing jump scares like a broken, screechy record. From Amnesia, Dead Space, Deus Ex, Portal, Alien: Isolation, Bioshock(duh) to even Doom 3 and Gears of War, all of these games and many more have been significantly influenced by System Shock. That’s the only part of the reason why the game has aged like milk.

Im hoping the next BF is WW2 so they can show activision how its done. Iwould definitely like to experience at least one ww2 game in the frostbite engine lol
Yeah a WW2 game by DICE would be a dream come true but it feels too early in the wake of the WW2 COD. I'd like to see bad company 3 in 2018 with a Battle Royal online mode and a WW2 game in 2019.

Though I want the game as soon as possible, I’d rather have a polished experience, so I’m willing to wait for as long as they need to make it into an awesome game.
System Shock is a pretty remarkable game. Developed by Looking Glass Studios (or Looking Glass Technologies as they were known at the time of development), it went much farther than most any other real-time first-person game of the early ’90s in presenting a realistic environment, with which one can interact in several different ways. It takes the structure of a standard dungeon-crawler, and reinvents it as a trek for survival through a desolate space station filled with mutants and cyborgs, controlled by a rogue AI with sinister ambitions.
Is a new System Shock game in the works at OtherSide Entertainment? The developer has just put up a teaser for their next project at Othersidetease.com and already fans are speculating that this is either the long-rumoured remake of System Shock or a brand new game in the series...
A modernized System Shock could be amazing. System Shock is a true classic with great story and excellent characters. System Shock 2 was way ahead of its time as was the much lesser known original System Shock.
Dang, most reviews have stated the same stuff about this game. I guess it hasn't really aged that well. I'll still try it now that I finally get a chance though.
