PA:
Making a truly good sequel to a game is like an uphill climb. Making a good sequel to the Anno series is like an uphill climb with 17 years worth of expectations on your back.
On one hand, the people who like your game probably like it for a reason, so you don’t want to wipe out what draws people to the series. But at the same time, these are the kinds of games people sink hundreds of hours into — if you just tweak a few variables and re-skin a couple of buildings, they’ll know right away.
No one can accuse Anno 2205 of being just a glossed-up copy of its siblings in the series. Instead, it poses a sort of Ship of Theseus-esque question: how much can you change the core elements the series and still call it an Anno game?
Leon from DJ Podcasts writes "Anno 2205 is a city building, economic game at its heart and this is more than enhanced with the addition of all the DLC packs. Two of them, Wildwater Bay and the Tundra add new sectors for you to control. Wildwater Bay brings back another character from Anno 2070, with the sector project to uncover his buried treasure. This area is known for shipwrecks, which are wonderfully detailed, corroded by time and the salt of the sea. There’s plenty of space for you to use as well, to help build your corporation."
The DLC brings new difficulty mode and other additions.
EB: Anno 2205’s Tundra DLC is apparently now live today, so Ubisoft released a new trailer for it to show off the new region.
I asked a couple people about this game and they say it's good but feels like it's missing something. Said I should wait for the complete edition.
