Why is 'Fallout 4' Such a Big Deal?

If you play all the games then it's possible you'll like the first two better than the later ones, and if so that would make FO4 not that big a deal. I'll wait on the GotY edition for that very reason. It's a big deal for a lot of people though, for sure.

They did make another game like FO1 and FO2, it's called Wasteland 2. I highly suggest playing it.

Because its fkn Bethesda. This studio wears player agency on their sleeve. Been a Bethesda maniac since the first time I stepped off the ship in Morrowind. Fallout is an event.

Morrowind is my favorite game all time . The end bosd wasmt the greatest but I spent so much time in that game and it also didn't have quest arrows which made for a much more immersive experience imo. Reading notes or taking directions from npcs will always be missed by me. I hppe they hd remake or something like thst someday. Anyway looking forward to Fallout4

i love that game, still one of my all time favourites.
it was the first time i played a game that seemed to have a living breathing world.
the hours i spent in that game.

but the loading, at least on the Xbox version.
the interminable loading screens.
far too many of the hours i spent with the game were spent watching loading screens.

if they could remake it exactly how it was back then, but without such long load times, it could be an almost perfect game.

You, my friend, need to try this on PC. The PC version, especially if you have an SSD, has minimal load times... just a few seconds.

I particularly found GTAV boring, and Witcher 3 and Fallout 3 were more fun, but apples and oranges.

All the dialogue can get a bit much , same as with Witcher 3 , just give a me some aliens or zombies to dismember in creative ways.

I never played the old fallout games so fallout 3 was my first fallout experience. It's just fun, side quests are fun, exploring the world is fun and the choices like blowing up the whole town

You know some games are hard to explain but are just a lot of fun to play and fallout is one of them. That's one thing missing in games now a days, it's more chore and let's fun and trying to be more realistic when we avoid the eal world and try to get lost in a virtual world

If you want to get a taste of the first two games id highly recommend playing Wasteland 2 which came out on psn a few weeks ago... Its well worth $40

I guess I understand the hype but I'm not a fan of fallout myself. Tried to get into it several times but just couldn't. I'll be the only person out of my group of friends not playing fallout 4 next week lol

Its a big game from a big developer.

But I agree that I feel that it's a bit overhyped. Not by much though.
