Possibly one of the — if not the biggest — announcement to come out of Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference is Quantic Dream’s reveal for Detroit. The PSLS staff weighs in on what they make of it so far.

It was an awesome surprise to find out they're working on the back of their Kara demo!

While the same was true with Heavy Rain and 'The Audition', I'd given up hope on this becoming a game. If the demo had that much impact, how much will the full game have? Can't wait!

yeah I really like where they are going with this. I think QD games are a breathe of fresh air. They are more mature than most games out there, and we are REALLY lacking in that department with games.

I also love the setting of the story. I think they can tell a really cool tale in that world. I like how they try things that have not been done before or have not been done enough. They take risks and I love them for it.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking! That tech demo was amazing. Kept wishing they would have actually made a full game out of it at the time, and they ended up actually doing it!

How do you define "proper game" and what games qualify? Your definition seems like it might be a bit narrow.

OT - We don't have much info yet so it's hard to answer that question based on anything other than Cage's past games. For me, that means I'm excited. The Kara video was very impressive and the concept should make for a great story. As with his past games, the gameplay won't be for everyone but no game is and I prefer variety in my gaming so sign me up.

That it will largely build on what was done with Heavy Rain and Two Souls, and that's about it.

I think they made the right choice picking Kara over The Sorcerer. The dilemma of what it means to be human and an emergent AI seems like a good fit for QD.

I agree...I find future tech more interesting than sorcery, but that's just my opinion. Quite frankly I wouldn't mind if they were working on both types of games. That would be pretty spectacular.

Seems to become a very deep and emotional game going by original Kara demo and trailer. I got goosebumps when they announced it. Can't wait and hope QD cover new ground with that game.

It's a day one buy for me. I love the atmosphere, and the hostility of some of the humans toward the AI....there is an interesting story to be told there. It will no doubt be gorgeous, hopefully it will be as interesting as it is pretty.

I like the idea or what seems to be the idea. An Ai becoming self-aware while being a part of a internet of things type of everything is connected environment. Humans need to find and remove the disruptive Ai. And you play it from that Ai's point of view. Has a lot of potential.

Very exciting to see this; day one for me! Heavy Rain and Beyond were amazing; I really enjoy this genre of games, and enjoyed Until Dawn as well recently (I know, different dev but still an amazing experience)--these all keep gaming refreshing and tell some powerful stories we can all get immersed in!
