Phil writes, "Last week SuperPhillip Central delved into the best 2D platformers on the Nintendo 3DS. After a positive review of Yoshi's Woolly World, it seems like a great time to talk about the best platformers, whether 2D or 3D, that the Wii U possesses. The system has no shortage of platformers to talk about-- retail, digital, AAA publisher, indie-- so this list was a little challenging to come up with. However, I managed to persevere and come up with the top ten platformers on the Wii U game console."

A little-known game Puppeteer is on this list for the best PS3 platformers.
Puppeteer is really good. Nobody played it because it came out right before PS4 came out. When I went to pick up Puppeteer from GameStop some people were trading in their old consoles for PS4 preorder.

Agreed. Many, many great platformers - but as usual - Mario takes the crown. SM3DW is (for me) a future classic and my only niggle with the game is that the multi-player aspect couldn't have been extended beyond local co-op.
Great list. Super Mario 3D World is my third favorite game this generation behind only The Wonderful 101 and Bloodborne overall so it is definitely my number one platformer.
Wii U definitely has a ton of quality and varied platformers.

I cannot agree less. It's way better than Sunshine, WAY better. The equal of Mario 64, but not nearly as innovative, but the ship has sailed on that matter - hardly the developers fault. Yes, SMG (1&2) eclipse it, but only slightly. Both very different experiences.
Overall, put alongside platformers of old - both 2D and 3D...I would say it arguably makes the top 10.
Yup I agree completely!!
