Akiba Weekly: The Corpse Party series has undeniably come a long way from its humble beginnings. With every entry to the series, Team GrisGris have actively improved the game significantly, redefining an entire genre, and pushing the limits of both engines and story. Initially finding its footing as a horror RPG-Maker title in 1996, Corpse Party would go on to be developed into a completely 3D world, bringing a gritty new edge to the twisted halls of Heavenly Host.
Bringing the epic conclusion to the three-part series to Steam after being a Vita exclusive, Corpse Party: Blood Drive sees the finale of the story of Shinozaki, facing the morale and immoral between life and death, what’s worth sacrificing, and what you’ll go through to get the ones you love back. With a bump in visuals thanks to a higher resolution, the PC version of Corpse Party: Blood Drive fixes all of the issues Vita suffered from years ago, making this a definitive experience to experience the amazing finale to the seminal series.
I played the Vita version years back and this is a highly underrated horror game IMO.
While its somewhat clunky gameplay stops it from standing out as the shining star of the Corpse Party series, there's no denying that Corpse Party: Blood Drive's trip Back to Heavenly Host is one that fans of the series won't want to miss.
