Gamer Professionals | Destiny: The Taken King — King’s Fall Raid Review (PS4)

Morgan from Gamer Professionals writes | Destiny: The Taken King released on September 15 and we here at Gamer Professionals previously provided a review for the expansion pack. While we were able to play all there was to play in the game and give a thorough critique of the content, the one bit we were not able to get to was the highly anticipated King’s Fall raid. This was because the raid was actually released after the game’s release and you had to reach a certain light level in order to complete the raid, and at the time we simply did not have the confidence to go through the entire raid at our current level. That time is over though, and we have completed the King’s Fall raid in its entirety and are ready to give a comprehensive review of Destiny’s most intricate pieces of content to date.

I definitely find a lot of promise in this review. When we talk of roles are we talking about the standard MMO trifecta of healer, DPS, and tank?

ninsigma3494d ago (Edited 3494d ago )

No there's no healers or tanks in destiny. DPS is there though. By roles, it means who does what in terms of the current tasks mechanics and who does what to achieve the task. Like the daughters and oryx fights require 4 people to stand on platforms in a specific order, a runner grab the relic and a 6th to do add control. They are what would be considered roles in this case.

Edit:
A role could also include the likes of a certain player using a certain ability at the right time. So for me when I play, I take the role of providing my shield for the team that when they walk in it they get a buff called weapons of light that let's them deal more damage to the bosses.

Spicelicka, it comes with a code for every single piece of DLC. It sucks that you'd have to pay so much additionally for everything if you did buy it last year, but for new players they can get everything for $60.

With all the gameplay though, the amount of hours put into the game, and the quality of The Taken King, it is worth it.

The Destiny Franchise is at its Brightest When Embracing its Darkness

Here, Twinfinite is writing that Destiny, despite being a T rated franchise, is full of dark and brooding moments that showcase the best of the team's narrative potential. They further write that, while Destiny 2 has not delivered as much as it should have on this front, Forsaken appears to be the big step that it needs to return to its greatest moments.

Press Start: Going flawless in Destiny 2 isn't quite as sweet

Gazette gaming columnist Jake Magee's lack of skill at Destiny is what made going flawless in Trials of Osiris more than a year ago taste so sweet. The feeling wasn't as great when he did the same in Destiny 2 last week, he writes.

I wonder if they'll re-review it after completing the 12hr campaign and levelled up to 265

Phoxel2788d ago

I wrote this review after beating the campaign, reaching 273 power, completing two of the three exotic quests, completing every adventure, playing plenty of Crucible, and much more.

how is destiny 2 a 9.5 while missing many features from the first game, weapon balance issues, lack luster exotics, boring strikes, and no dedicated servers..i like the game a lot for what it offers..but its no where near a 9.5..closer to a 7.5..they didnt add enough for this to even feel like a proper sequel
