Hail to the king of console racing! Forza 6 is awesome.

Gazondaily3534d ago

The elite controller can't come soon enough!

KiwiViper853534d ago

Paddle shifting was the first thing that came to mind when the controller was announced

Kingdomcome2473534d ago (Edited 3534d ago )

I concur. I will say though, that I've been thinking that the paddles look as though they'd be really easy to accidentally press as they are right where your fingers rest. Tons of R&D went into it's creation, though and I've yet to hear anything other than glowing praise, so I'm sure it's not an issue.

Gonna get murdered for saying this but wet racing is pretty garbage. Since it isn't dynamic I've already memorized where the puddles are and readjusted my driving line. It's simply of no consequence after the first few times you've raced one of the few tracks with rain.

Edit: To those disagreeing, this is a fact. It's a pretty poor implementation of weather!

Orbilator3534d ago

there are a few things still off with it in my opinion, graphically. Puddles for sure, day transitioning and the shadows, building are a little flat in place as are some of the trees, i do feel this is the price we all need to pay for 1080p / 60fps. im not panning the game, im just not a lover of the game or its handleing. it is however the best racer on XBOX ONE by a long way for sure

bobsmith3534d ago (Edited 3534d ago )

gran turismo is king id rather play gt6 over forza 6 I tried the demo gran turismo feels way more realistic
and all the prototype vision gran turismo cars on tracks like matterhorn and sahara never gets old I cant go back to forza

demonddel3534d ago

I'm sorry bruh I just bought gt6 for 14.99 on psn and all I can is its not even on forza 6 level matter of fact Gran Turismo series as much as I love it was never on the Forza series level

u4one3534d ago

thats cool if you prefer it, but both critic and user reviews say otherwise. gt (which i do love) lost its edge at gt4 and remained lackluster after that - like the ps2 ported car models in gt5, and how it lacked even skid marks and the sound was like hair dryers... just examples. gran turismo has really great physics but the entire game around those physics just hasn't been up to snuff imo. I'm hoping gt7 fixes it. for now though - forza smokes it.

Kiwi663534d ago

Well good for you but not once in the video was gt mentioned so why bring it up given how this a forza 6 only review not forza vs gt review

bobsmith3534d ago (Edited 3534d ago )

I was replying to someone saying all hail the king of console racing when gt is
just trying to help people who think forza is the best know that gt is so much better not in graphics though.

Orbilator3534d ago

people who hate gt 6 are xbox user and people who hate forza are playstation users, Dont figure, there must be some pattern there.

I love gt6 and still fire up the PS3 to play, got a very well estatblished online section now with regular challenges etc.

Hope f6 gets the same level of support as thats truley a great thing. i prefered f5 over fh2 when i had my xbox, Fora 6 looks good to but its still not my cuppa tea and to me it never feels like im in control, maybe thats a personal taste thing again.

Kiwi663534d ago

It doesn't matter if you were trying to help people it doesn't change the fact that this article has nothing to do with gt even though you feel otherwise

3-4-53534d ago

GT hasn't been king since GT3

Kingdomcome2473534d ago

@Orbilator- I've heard many complaints regarding the Forza franchise, but this one is a first. I've heard nothing but praise in regards to how well physics, handing, etc... are relayed to the player so well through the game's use of haptic and other feedback. Every car having a unique accurately modeled physics, and handling system that is easily determinable by the player. Physics and control seem to be one of the game's aspects that has been met with almost universal acclaim. From what I've read and heard this accuracy has only been honed and amplified in Forza 6 with the newly added weather physics, updated surface variables, tire deformation/physics model, etc... I'm very surprised by your complaint, because it would seem that by all accounts you're alone in having this issue.

Imortus_san3533d ago (Edited 3533d ago )

GT premium cars (200/1000) may say otherwise (premium = PS3 models / normal = PS2 models), plus 25 patchs on GT5, lol, microtransactions, GT6 grafics are worst then GT5 so the game can have a better frame rate and RES, GT AI is dull and always the same, so many models of the same car and they all play the same.

Do tell, wtf does that campany do to release a game from 5 to 6 years in that state, why do they take so long and the game is never a finished product.

Those rain effects are 1st class!!!!! But still no time of day transitioning and baked on shadows.

@martinstrings......for now.

Clunkyd3534d ago

More like king of racing in general as of right now.

Another awesome review. This game is fantastic. The physics, the handling and presentation is all there. Its thrilling to race against all those other cars. I'm hooked

Rookie_Monster3534d ago

111 accumulated reviews on N4G so far and an avg of 90. The critics agreed, best racing game this gen. Haven't played anything else since this game was released.

star_lancer3534d ago

I'm enjoying Forza as well, however I do find myself switching between Forza and Project Cars quite often. I just feel like they complement each other perfectly, as each has a large number of tracks and cars that aren't in the other.

Forza is the better game though, as I can't get enough of racing around Indy and Daytona. Plus, my home state of Connecticut gets some Forza love with the inclusion of Lime Rock Park.

Rookie_Monster3534d ago (Edited 3534d ago )

Agreed, nothing wrong with your assessment and liking other racers as well. I also alternate between Forza 6 and Forza Horizon 2 as both offers something unique and different to the racing genre. Can't never have enough games.

Orbilator3534d ago

i new there would be someone still playing PC after all this time and weve found you loool

Black0ut3534d ago

Console racing at its finest! Seriously it's a great game if you're yet to try it.

Kingdomcome2473534d ago

I see he already scooped up the lunar white controller, and he has the Arkham Knight LE console. Those are my two main controllers as well right now. The diamond rubberized grip on the Forza and Lunar white controller needs to become standard stat, as it's an awesome touch. The elite controller will soon be mine, though. OT: Another great review.

FlexLuger3534d ago

I hear ya on the pads. Never thought I would wind up owning seven controllers in the first year of owning my new console...but it seems to be the case. The XB1 controller really lends itself well to limited editions. Im going to take a group photo of all my controllers once I have my elite, lunar white and Halo 5 locke edition controllers.

I cyurrently Have the AW edition that came with my COD AW edition xbox, but use my midnight forces edition. I have the covert forces(urban-swedish camo style), titanfall and forza controllers in their boxes. Ill never use them. Or the halo 5 one. And Ill retire my midnight forces to its box once I have my elite.

XB1 limited ed. controllers rock!

Kingdomcome2473534d ago

The police recovered my stolen property, so I have six in total. (I would have seven, but the right bumper on my Titanfall controller gave out while grinding out the, "climb 10,000 meters acheivement", in Dying Light, lol. I currently have the lunar white, covert forces, standard black w/3.5 mm audio jack, and the midnight forces controllers for Xbox One, and the 20'th anniversary DS4, and the LE Arkham Knight controller for PS4. I'm going to part with my midnight forces, standard black, and covert forces controllers whenever I pick up the Elite, Forza, and Spartan Locke controllers. I use all of mine, so I only need 4 for my two dual charging stands. I'm sure it will, but I still am wondering if the Elite controller will work with the Energizer dual charging stations.

FlexLuger3534d ago

Awesome! I remember you saying a while back about your stuff. I wouldnt get rid of my other controllers if I were you though. You gotta admits its a nice site to just have em all lined up. and ya know, its always nice to have a fresh pad spare in case....or just because! :)

Top 10 Rarest Cars in Forza History

KeenGamer: "See the top 10 rarest cars to ever appear in Forza history! Thousands of cars have been featured in Forza since launch and only a handful of them have been really difficult to obtain or, in current state, impossible to drive around with. Although they were once obtainable, it's only for a limited time and, most times, for a certain price."

What's the benefit of delisting games? Curious.

Italiano12345672112d ago

Theres no benefit. They just dont renew the licenses for the songs and cars so after the 15th u cant buy it

mandingo2112d ago (Edited 2112d ago )

Oh licenses. That makes sense. So if you have it digitally already you can still play it you just cant buy it?

Cobra9512112d ago (Edited 2112d ago )

Yeah, the expiring-licenses thing is a blight on the scene. There literally ought to be a law. Once something is licensed for a product, it should never become an impediment later on. Simple consumer protection. In racing games, both the cars and the music would be locked in place. The developer can't add newer car models, or different songs. I don't see why that would hurt the profits of car companies or artists. Newer games would have to license the newer cars and songs, or even the same ones.

Edit: mandingo, that's right.

rainslacker2112d ago (Edited 2112d ago )

Saving on licensing costs.

@cobra

They could pay more for perpetual licenses, but after 4 years, chances are they arent going to be making much of a return on the game anymore.

lodossrage2112d ago

again, a music license issue. This is the same reason Driveclub is getting delisted next year.

I'm sorry, but if music rights can be the cause of a product being delisted, they need to either have unlicensed music because this is ridiculous. This is actually another reason to be concerned about an all-digital future.

bolimekurac2112d ago

or hopefully when ugly things stick their head out like this music license issue, that the companies do the right thing and find a solution so this doesnt happen, then we can complain if they dont. Digital games is fairly new so why dont we first see if the companies fix these issues that pop up. not that we shouldnt be heard and to let them know about these issues but at least lets not attack them for no reason

lodossrage2112d ago

@bolimekurac,

They've already had years to deal with this. This isn't the first instance of license music altering a game in some form. Crazy Taxi wasn't even allowed to be released with the original soundtrack and many of the real world stores in the game were cut for licenses.

I know it's not exactly' the same, but the issues is close enough that the industry as a whole should have realized this would be a problem even back in the ps3/ 360 era win crazy taxi was re-released for modern day.

traumadisaster2112d ago (Edited 2112d ago )

Oh crap idk about drive club, I’m so glad you mentioned it, and I just happen to be in this article. I’ve been wanting that game but was waiting until ps5 to get it. Now i need to check into this cause hell I’ll buy it now if I need to.

It looks like there is a hard copy version, so I can pick that up cheap, the online stuff which I don’t usually do is what goes away in 2020, and it can’t be bought on psn

KickSpinFilter2112d ago

Oh you should def get Driveclub such a great game now after server/updates. One of my all time fav racers. Nice mix of Arcade/Sim. Not Sim, Arcade or Sim/Arcade.

rainslacker2112d ago

I'd highly recommend bikes if you get driveclub. Lots of fun. The vr version is also good if you have psvr.

About the only thing you're going to lose with the delisting is the online functions as well. Driveclub is playable in SP with lots of content though. It's just being part of a club and user challenges or throw downs won't be available after they shut down the servers.

DaDrunkenJester2112d ago

Or it's not that big of a deal since it's a long running franchise and there is already the newer versions you can still buy. If you already own FM6 you can still play it.

spicelicka2112d ago

This is a definitely a huge concern for an all-digital future. Along the fact that they can control whatever price they want you to pay even 5 years later, like Destiny and Call of Duty. You can't even buy the original games anymore, they just re-bundle them and force you to pay full price again.

WiiU-Dude2112d ago

It happens in other entertainment too. I have seen DVD series held up for years because of music licensing issues. It is annoying. I agree with the person that it should be a one time deal. With the creation of a product, things like music licensing should be done with that product going forward. Such a headache apparently.

Good thing physical copies will always exist for purchase in a thriving used game market.

CobraKai2112d ago

There’s at least 3 people who like games being delisted; never to be played again.

Software_Lover2112d ago

But you still have to download the data unfortunately...…..

traumadisaster2112d ago

I just bought this a few months ago on a very cheap sale, then I think recently it was added to game pass.
