I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.
The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.
The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.
MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
I agree with a lot of the points except about the ending twist. The ending twist was something I expected, but the way it was done was the absolute worst way to could be. It's not even clever. It's just a kick in the nuts from Kojima making fun of everyone for expecting the game to be what we expected and what it was explicitly advertised as.
This game didn't need a twist like that. It's very securely stuck in a period of time where we already pretty much knew what Big Boss was doing. To completely retcon all of that and then go so far as to screw around with the original Metal Gear is just plain stupid. No one asked how Big Boss survived Metal Gear 1. No one. No one questioned how Liquid survived the numerous sure deaths in MGS1. Are we going to get another retcon about how Big Boss survived being burned alive and reappeared in MGS4? Because no one cares. No one cares how villains survive like that. And to shove in a random character who is flatter than Quiet is more offensive to Big Boss's character.
