Star Ocean: Second Evolution Releasing For Both PS4 And PS Vita

Star Ocean: Second Evolution is the PSP enhanced port of Star Ocean: The Second Story, and in addition to its upcoming PlayStation Vita release, Square Enix announced that it’s headed to PlayStation 4, too.

According to producer Shuichi Kobayashi, the PlayStation 4 version won’t be a remake, but a port for the upcoming PlayStation 4 version. While a release period wasn’t announced, Kobayashi said that it “won’t take too long.”

I would prefer a remake to be honest. I have to be happy though for the release of another Star Ocean the next months.

@Majin_Vegeta: the DS and PC are valid gaming platforms. 3DS is a console. A PC can be a console, if I put it into a small box under my TV. Subconsciously limiting it to some imagined ideal of "consoles" is a fallacy and a very puerile attempt at limiting discussion. Par for the course, sadly.

Maybe it's just me, but I would prefer a remaster of the second Star Ocean game straight from the PSone. I got the PSP redux and to be honest, I didn't really care for it so much. I miss the original voice acting which S-E forces us to have in English and the acting in the remaster on PSP was kind of flat if I'm perfectly honest. Come on S-E, please just redo the original PS version.

Yes! Have the orginal on PSone and the PSP remake, will absolutely buy this again, can only assume it will have trophy support, I will undoubtedly platinum this. Would be nice if the PS4 version was a remake though.

I'd like First Departure too. I don't think I'll ever play Second Story again it was a fun ride but I got everything out of that one I needed. Kinda wish I'd had the internet back then so I wouldn't have spent all that time leveling to 55 to take on Dias Flac in the tournament only to find out he was unbeatable. This game was so full of options. Man the anime was an abortion though.

Shame I could never get this game on the classics on PS3. PS4 I'm in hopefully Sony will allow the classic games to come over to PS4. I still love this Star Ocean game.

Till the ends of times was one of my favorite JRPG of all times, great characters and music with a pretty fun gameplay system and the craft itself was a game
