GTA Inspires Crazed Teen To Kill

From gameplayer: "A disturbed teenager in Thailand has robbed and killed a taxi driver.

"The young murderer claims to have been inspired by GTA.

"Apparently, instead of saving up his pocket money to buy the game like a normal person, he used his allowance to buy a pair of knives…"

why does there always have to be more to it? this person did this because he/she saw, watched, played, listed to whatever. it's ridiculous. if you're gonna be a murderer, at least have the balls to accept responsibility for it. you're grown up enough to commit these crimes, but not enough to take the credit?

how come we never hear reports in the news that say: "today a person copied GTA by taking his girl out to a local comedy club."

that allowed you to throw newspapers at houses that were not subscribed to the paper i was selling. so now i cant help but throw newspapers at random houses. but its not my fault the game made me do it

At 18 he should of had a job. Then he would be able to buy his gta rather than knifes, and come on hes still getting pocket money from his parents at 18.

There are crazy people everywhere, granted some crazier than others. The important thing when a person commits a crime is to blame the person and not the reason why he did it.

If a person takes LSD/ritalin/Steroids and kills someone it's still the person that takes it who is to blame for acting like he did, not the drugs. The drugs are harmless if not consumed.

It's the same with this story. Games are harmless as long as they still are fiction and games.

GTA4 inspired me as well; it inspired me to trade it in for MGS4.

But on a serious note and this goes without saying, it disgusts me how people blame others/games for their actions. It's stories like these that get the attention of the media and then politicians attempt to pass more legislation (I'm looking at you Hilary Clinton) in an attempt to "think of the children". This is a damn M-rated game; make it an Adults Only rating for all I care. I'm an adult, I'll be damned if some depressed kid can't handle what's displayed or uses it as a scapegoat to avoid pointing the finger at the real culprit.

Just remember, every time you point the finger at someone, there are 3 pointing back at you.

Interesting article, it doesn’t surprise me because some people are better all a-rounders than others. Regardless of fame or how good they are in their specialty.

This is why I feel like the live action stuff in Alan Wake 2 especially is pretty bad. It also looks really cheap and amateurish.
