My Favourite CoD: Black Ops II for Wii U

"Advanced Warfare's hype got me to buy in on day one for PC because I was looking for something more dynamic than Ghosts, but... I didn't really feel like going back there. This led me down the path of CoD self discovery over the next couple of days leading me to an interesting conclusion: in spite of its shortcomings my favourite CoD since MW2 is Black Ops II for Wii U."

I agree, me and my cousin had lots of fun, I love how we can be in the same room and have our own screen, he could look at the tv and I look at the game pad and we would kick butt until we were not on teams no more then I wud just kick his butt

There's a part of me that wants to re-purchase it on Wii U simply because it was better balanced and more fun than Ghosts, but I still hate that the devs didn't treat that port as good as all the other versions so I'm having a hard time rationalizing the purchase.
Justifications based on user numbers be damned: it's shameful that they didn't have the decency to include the extra content that every other version of it got.
It was doomed to failure by that more than anything else.

Does anyone even play Black Ops II on Wii U anymore? I seem to remember hearing, at one point, that it had higher user numbers on Wii U than Ghosts does...

I'd say it's worth it even without the DLC maps considering it's only around $20 these days. (Although I agree Treyarch's treatment of it was a travesty.) I just checked and there are 928 people online playing it right now. In the middle of the night there are still usually around 400 so it's never hard to find a team deathmatch game.

I just played. It's Friday night around 10EST. It's more like 1700 people playing this game.

From what I played on Wii U, here's the list of shooters I recommend.

Mass Effect 3
Splinter Cell (the latest one on the Wii U)
Black Ops 2
Zombi U
And I heard the Deus X Wii U edition was a good port.

wonderfulmonkeyman3303d ago

I own every game you listed except Splinter Cell and BO2.
I'm saddened that all we got was the tail end of the Mass Effect series rather than the trilogy, but I can recommend Deus Ex as one of the few really good ports the system has.
I still go back to it now and again when I want a game that has a good balance between stealth and action, and supports the player's choice of which of the two approaches to take in nearly any mission.

I still enjoy 007 Legends.. Some challenging levels..lol

marloc_x3303d ago

Still a lot of Tranzit here..🔫

Maybay3303d ago

I heard Legends wasn't so great, but a few people do enjoy it. It's cheap so I might pick it up, though the Wii U has BC, and I can just play the amazing Goldeneye title on the Wii.

Yeah quiet a high number of people still play, I played it a couple days ago exoecting to find no people to play online, and I was surprised to see enough people to play match after match without pause

The Wii U CoD community loves BLOPS II, and for good reason.

There's usually about 1000 players on at any given time. They are fiercely competitive and very nice. The great thing about CoD on Wii U is that everyone is so nice, yeah you're still gonna run into jerks, but for the most part everybody is pretty chill. Also, with it being a small community, you run into a lot of the same players all the time and it becomes much more competitive in the end. The Hardcore TDM mode gets especially competitive due to the small amount of people that want to actually attempt hardcore.

Munnkyman3302d ago

I've been thinking of picking it up as well. I can't believe people are still playing it I'll def get it

Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play Coming During Season 1, Treyarch Handling Development

Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play will be arriving sometime in the middle of Season 1. Treyarch is once again handling development of it.

Kaii349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

I'll bite.
I don't min/max or alter controller schemes anymore because the default options suit me fine aside from aiming sensitivity, which was freakishly low on default.
But the matchmaking system still does that dissemble-reassemble which I hate and knew that my following games after my first overall score would increase In difficulty, i.e. drop shotters (many more examples)

You've got this ranked play but you have this spm scale that throws you against the sweatwall of hell (2 good games>1 bad game)

Swiftly uninstalled and I save 110+gb
