Maybe this means new Mega Man games are coming like Legends 3

R-right? ;.;

Been done already. And it was probably better than what Fox can crap out. Move along.

Summons753306d ago

A Mega Man movie would be awesome... if it were literally done by ANYONE but Fox. How anyone could seriously give them the rights to any movie or franchise after the crap they pulled with Fantastic Four is beyond me. They'll really kill it if they say Michael Bay is going to be behind it...

Darkfist3306d ago

robots + explosion + some kind of plot = profit

Summons753306d ago

lazy and unprofessional studi + low budget + bad CGI + too many explosions + plus terrible writing = a terrible movie, not much profit.

Darkfist3306d ago

but it did work with transformers

Summons753306d ago

Did you watch the MB movies? They are awful, horrible writing and the robots look nothing like they should in car mode or transformed state (Except for Optimus being a truck, that's about it.). The effects are pretty good but besides that the only positive thing about the movie is that it's not as bad as the Ninja Turtles movie...that's just a whole different level of awful.

deathtok3306d ago

@Summons75

I totally agree with you, the MB movies are garbage. However the point is they were really profitable.

That's FOX's only angle.

rainslacker3306d ago

It worked as a popcorn flick. The writing and cinematography was terrible, and about the only thing that remained from the original show was Optimus in form and attitude....but even he was reduced to nothing but quippy one-liners. The other transformers were shells of their former self(vehicle types aside). it was very one dimensional, and the followup's were just as bad. The decepticon's had very little reason to be in the story except for exciting set pieces. At least in the original show they had motives beyond just being the bad guy. They're enjoyable for what they are, but it doesn't make me go back and think of the good stuff that the original series had.

Question is always going to be what are you going to do with it? Capcom has burnt mega man fans many a time and trust is low overall so I think a bold new direction may not be the best idea unless it's backed with a sonic mania style project alongside it.

I could see a bold new 3d take on the Willy wars alongside a mania style game being very popular.

Just keep it far away from Live services and loot boxes

DarXyde60d ago

Hear me out.

........I think they could pull off a MetroidVania Mega Man.

Even better: make it Megaman X, but in a pre-X7 style.

Old McGroin60d ago

Or maybe do what Nintendo did with Metroid. Go from a 2D platformer to a 3D game, like Metroid Prime.

shinoff218361d ago

Sounds like a plan Capcom. Just don't forget the disc. Also I think alot of the mega man base would love to see a return of the rpg

Brazz60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

You know... I realy think a MM game that plays like ratchet and clank can work great! Mega Man can be very light hearted and family friendly, something for everyone If they use a formula similar to Ratchet and Clank, i realy want to see Capcom giving It a try.

Good good good. Take your time... But don't wait too long.. lol. Need some Mega Man 202X

ZeekQuattro444d ago

5 years was than enough time for a new Mega Man game. The RE franchise had 3 remakes and RE8 in the last five years. Mega Man ain't that deep Capcom. Get it done. 🤣

GoodGuy09443d ago (Edited 443d ago )

The first brand spanking new megaman I really want them to make is... actually revive and continue the Legends 3 game. Realistically though, the next would probably be megaman 12, then a new battle network game.

Can we get an X reboot in 2-D with anime cutscenes?

I like Megaman but always thought X was cooler.

VersusDMC443d ago

Totally agree on X coming back but with an 3d look like Guilty gear Strive or DBZ Fighterz. Cutscenes for those games look like an anime.

Still want it to be a 2D platformer with a more expansive Metroidvania type map.
