New Transformers: Devastation trailer showcases combat on PS4, PS3

Posted by Robert Conkey on Aug 26, 2015 // Lead Producer, Activision:

Long-time Transformers fans know that every single robot-in-disguise has a very specific personality. Grimlock, for instance, probably wouldn’t be described as “neighborly” and Sideswipe isn’t always interested in playing by the rules, but both have a fondness for combat. Optimus Prime, on the other hand, would always prefer a diplomatic solution.

It's great that the developers got some of the original voice actors for the game.

Kalebninja3588d ago

Not what I imagine when i think transformers but the gameplay looks great and they got the art style down.

orionone3588d ago

Just out of curiosity, what do you imagine when you think transformers?

King-u-mad3588d ago

10,000 lasers missing their targets. Standing Grappling matches. XD

Kalebninja3588d ago (Edited 3588d ago )

they are moving way too fast compared to what I've seen of the transformer series. The game is very anime inspired and the combat is quick. I really imagine a more shooter oriented game with some fist fighting than anime style brawling.

Many of these are available on other platforms like the PS3, 360 XBO... so no need for the PS4 version if you want to just play it.

If you want to just have it for the sake of saying you have an expensive piece, then.... sure. I will say though, anything LRG I dont count as all they do is re-release other peoples work. They used to do their own games, but found it more lucrative to re-press games with their own name on it. That is just glorified reproductions / bootlegs.

Activision's Transformers Games Have Been Relisted On Xbox And Steam Stores

Activision's Transformers games have been relisted on the Xbox and Steam stores, suggesting they could be available in the future.

Inverno354d ago

Aw snap, i pirated the first game since I couldn't get it on steam but couldn't get it to work. Guess i don't gotta go out of my way now. Now if only SONY worked with em to port over Edge of Time or remastered Shattered and Edge.

The bots have returned!

*slow dramatic falling to the floor*

Inverno353d ago

"please add .com" what a well mannered bot.

CobraKai353d ago (Edited 353d ago )

WTF? I’ve been wanting to replay Fall/War games. So bummed they didn’t make em backwards compatible. I think imma have to dig out my 360 out of storage

P_Bomb353d ago

Really wish they’d finish off the Fall/War run as a trilogy. The IP’s being wasted on mediocre games.

CobraKai353d ago

Yeah. Didn’t they try and merge the movie game and the Cybertron game for Dark of the Moon or something?

P_Bomb353d ago

I think they tried, but that’s one game I never played. Which is funny cuz I have the other movie games. Last TF game I bought was Devastation.

FinalFantasyFanatic353d ago

I really loved those games, I have them on my Steam account, but I wish they made more games like that.

ActualWhiteMan353d ago

Definitely don’t see them on steam…

The Best Games You Can't Officially Buy Anymore

From Xfire: "It's been estimated that roughly half of the video games ever released on the market can no longer be downloaded or purchased. Whether this is exactly correct is not the point. Rather, we think that either way, the video game industry, as a whole, has done a terrible job at preserving video games and making older titles available to play for future generations."

Terry_B1495d ago

You can play all of these games still lol. The headline is just misleading. Funny is that there is not one game in the list that you really can't play anymore due to it being online only games.

CorndogBurglar1495d ago (Edited 1495d ago )

Its not about games you can't play. Its about games you can't officially buy anywhere.

Terry_B1495d ago

The author changed it actually

Army_of_Darkness1494d ago

Who needs to buy these games anyway? Most of them are average at best and won't really be missed.

littletad1495d ago (Edited 1495d ago )

It says buy, not play though. You can't purchase Deadpool or the Simpsons game anymore. Unless you have a 360 for the simpsons or a physical copy of deadpool, or purchased it before it was delisted.

shuvam091495d ago

Look at his comment. It's from 9 hours ago. Article goes back 4 hours. Title might have been changed after realising the mistake

isarai1495d ago

One you actually legit cannot play AT ALL is Noby Noby Boy. I miss turning my brain off and messing around in that game, was so psyched to re-download it when i rebought a ps3 slim, but you cant, even if it's in your downl library, along with a few other obscure PS3 games i had.

NecrumOddBoy1495d ago

The original memes to the moon game. Loved NNB on PS3.

FreeckyCake1495d ago

I would replace Transformers Devastation with War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron tho.

Knightofelemia1495d ago (Edited 1495d ago )

Transformers Devastation was good but not as good as Fall and War of Cybertron they should be on the list. SH 2 I can play any time I want since it came free in a $10 Xbox I bought used. The Simpsons Arcade I have on my PS3 surprised the Xmen Arcade game is not on this list or the Turtles arcade game either.

CorndogBurglar1495d ago

I had the X-Men arcade game on my 360. I don't know if Xbox Live is still a thing or not, and of it is, I don't know of they still sell X-Men. But it was deinitely on Xbox Live at some point.

Knightofelemia1495d ago (Edited 1495d ago )

If you had X-Men before you can redownload it from your transaction history on the 360 Microsoft did not castrate the 360 from online. That is how I was able to redownload the old TMNT arcade game to my 360 you can't play it on XB1 or Series X but you can still access it for sure on the 360.
