Spectra is severely lacking in content. Within a few minutes the game shows all it has to offer and there isn’t anything more besides its overly simple mechanics. Racing through a track littered with shiny cubes and polygonal obstacles has never felt more boring. The intense soundtrack attempts to make up for the failings in the gameplay but ultimately the music falls to the same crippling repetitiveness of the racing. While Spectra is a small, inoffensive package, it doesn’t attempt to convince anyone that’s a worthy of praise.
