Air is not the first movie depicting how humans react in near-isolation and/or surviving in a post-apocalyptic environment. That said, it is different enough in its conception of the bunker and Hounsou and Reedus are captivating enough that people will find things to enjoy in it. Eschewing any real explanations works for the movie, but only to a point and eventually leads to diminishing returns.
