Before You Buy “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture”
Everybody's Gone To The Rapture is an adventure based game developed by The Chinese Room, who also made Dear Esther. This game tells the story of those living in a remote English valley who are experiencing world-shattering events beyond their control.
The player pieces together the fate of the valley through the memories of those who inhibit it. Finding these lost lives, the player learns about the stories of the individuals; how they lived and died. This non-linear open world adventure pushes interactive emotional storytelling to the next level. This is the story of how people respond to grave adversity and it begins with the end of the world.
This game takes place in the summer 1984 in the after-math of an apocalypse. It will be based around six major characters each telling their own stories and connections to landmarks as the game progresses. There are no instructions, no handholding, and no idea on where to begin so it's completely free for you to explore the environment and investigate houses and buildings to find clues. This game may not be for everyone since it's all about exploration and storyline with no action.
Everybody's Gone To The Rapture will cost $19.99 and will be available on August 11, 2015 only downloadable as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
