Stone-faced, Mike Jaret-Schachter douses dogs with gasoline and then burns them to death. He looks like anyone who works a booth in a county fair’s back corner and could be selling magic crystals, with a looping three-minute video, less interesting than a dripping faucet. Only this is the Electronic Entertainment Expo, once a digital extravaganza that any gamer would hock his grandmother’s magic rocks to attend, and his droning demo depicts scenes the Entertainment Software Rating Board could call shockingly violent.
