A PS Vita owner created his own custom analog stick modification kit to add Xbox One analog sticks to their PlayStation Vita.

I wouldn't complain, they're bloody comfortable sticks to use. Looks a tad goofy on the vita due to the length of them but if it works well, why not? =)

Genuine-User3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

i might buy this.

x_RadicalAura_x3564d ago

I agree, Nicholas Cage. Cool "hack" that I may have to try out for myself.

Genuine-User3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Why are you calling me Nicholas Cage? lol

I don't look anything like him - http://i.imgur.com/1JzpcGJ....

Killzoner993564d ago

I don't approve of using Xbone parts on the gorgeously engineered Vita. That's like putting junkyard hubcaps on a Ferrari.

wakeNbake3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

We can debate consoles all day but MS has always had better quality controllers.

Savsky3564d ago

@wakeNbake
I agree that the Dualshock 3 wasn't as good as the 360 controller last gen, but I prefer the Dualshock 4 over the Xbox One controller this time around. The Xbox One controller isn't even as good as the 360 controller.

DragoonsScaleLegends3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

The DualShock's most lacking feature was only the triggers and Sony sure didn't fix that issue with the DS4 either. I've never liked Xbox controllers because of the non-symmetrical concave joysticks. DS4's joysticks were also a downgrade over the DS3 controller which is why I don't like them and had to buy convex joysticks for my DS4, but they aren't as good as the DS3 joysticks.

@wakeNbake

I like how comfortable it is to hold a DS4 but I hate the joysticks with a passion because the ring edge makes my thumbs feel sore after less than a hour of playing.

wakeNbake3564d ago

@drpepperdude
WHOA there hold your horses, I did say I like Xbox controllers more overall, but the dualshock 4 is fantastic imo. Its not just a massive improvement from the DS3, it gives the X1 pad a run for its money.

TheHaloGuy3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Fanboy shit needs to die. Pick your console, or pick multiple. Either way, fanboy wars are dumb.

DragoonsScaleLegends3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

You've been through a lot Xbox fan over the past year and I know facts can hurt your feelings why else would you be mad? :( Without fanboy wars consoles would have already died.

TheHaloGuy3564d ago

Your statement made 0 sense. I have all the consoles except the PS4. And I've just been waiting for a game I want on PS4 and it finally showed it's face, Horizon.

So... you have no idea what your talking about.

DragoonsScaleLegends3564d ago

No its just putting parts from a slight fail onto a huge fail.

Kojjikaneshiro3564d ago

Are you serious? You realize that both are more than likely made in China and most likely in the same plants Lol.

Elit3Nick3564d ago

At least after the Ferrari bursts into flames you'll still have a good set of hubcaps

and then he utterly destroys everyone in Killzone Mercenary

Zeref3564d ago

Funny how PS4 fanboys claim the PS4 controller is the best. Yet why doesn't this have a PS4 analog stick? Why doesn't Oculus come with a PS4 controller? Why do 90% of third party controllers on both platform look like Xbox controller knockoffs?

Say what you want about MS but the truth is Xbox controllers have always been the best, except the original which was too big for a lot of people but after that everything was top notch.

WeAreLegion3564d ago

This modder prefers the XBO sticks. Microsoft got a deal with Oculus.

I love both the DualShock 4 and Xbox One pad, but I use a DS4 to play games on my PC. I hate these sticks. The edges dig into my fingers. Great for grip, but still.

The point is...we all just like what we like. Saying one is better than another when clearly everyone has their own opinion is a little ridiculous. So chill.

DragoonsScaleLegends3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Non-symmetrical, concave joysticks will always suck to me. The only reason PC controllers mimic Xbox controllers is because that is the only controller PC games support. The D-Pad has never been great on a Xbox controller which is fact. Joysticks shape and position just come down to preference. In my opinion both Sony and Microsoft have never made a perfect controller. The DS4 leaves much to be desired, just a little less than the DS3.

Zeref3563d ago

I was saying that Even PlayStation 3rd party controllers look like xbox controllers.

FullmetalRoyale3564d ago

I game mostly on playstation systems, however the quality of the xb1 controller is very high imo. I hadn't held an Xbox controller since the original until recently, and I was really impressed by the quality. The bottons were very colicky and therefore satisfying to use.

Now I'm thinking of those third party controllers I used occasionally throughout my gaming, and holy crap were some of those controllers hot garbage!

Kojjikaneshiro3564d ago

Hence the reason why i've never liked Playstations, despite them being awesome consoles.I stick to what feels good in my hands,is ergonamic, has won awards and is tried and true.

PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are Not the Future of Gaming, Says US Analyst

For the first few years of this generation, a number of industry analysts argued Sony may need to add first-party games to PS Plus at launch in order to maintain pace with Xbox Game Pass.

The Japanese giant, to its credit, always maintained its position that this was unsustainable. It later added tiers to its subscription offering, providing good value with PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium without going all-in like its Redmond rival.

Microsoft has since missed a number of targets with its own service, and has subsequently started releasing games like Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Sony’s console.

Well Sony never said that, the other camp did and we all know how that went.

goken6d ago

Not all know. I am betting those observing this while obscured may have trouble comprehending 😅

dveio6d ago

Back in the day, there were even discussions and I believe statements from Spencer about wether Sony would allow Game Pass on Playstation.

At least for the time being this option seems definitely to be ruled out completely.

PlayStation Plus is getting a price bump in Australia

PlayStation Plus is getting a price rise in Australia and other global regions, with subscribers set to pay a few dollars more on each tier.

Sadly the price increases are expanding to Australia and likely other regions beyond.

Seems like it's best to stack now if you're in the position to do so

Cacabunga23d ago

Stack? No way I’m still boycotting since the last price increase

Profchaos23d ago

I try to stack every time they offer a psn sale that discounts the deluxe tier by 30 percent I find that's the best way to get past the multi year increases but yeah it's sucked feel like everything has increased so much lately across all subs I've cancelled gamepass and a few other streaming services going back to just psn, NSO and Netflix

DivineHand12523d ago

Same here. I let my subscription lapse since it ran out last summer. If we do the math, is a console really cheaper than a PC? It sucks that I can no longer play Helldivers 2, but it is not worth spending so much on the subscription fee for a function that should be free.

PS plus essential is $80
PS5 is $500
The generation is expected to last 7-8 years, which means you would have spent at least $1060 just to access basic features along with the initial purchase. Not to mention some games being more expensive. There are also the additional controllers you may need to buy once your original ones start to drift. I have 3 DualSense controllers, and all of them drifted. I was able to fix 2 of the 3 by modding them with Hall effect sticks.

I love my Playstation, and I do not regret buying it at launch since I got to enjoy some great games like Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Forbidden West, Spiderman 2, Demon Souls, Astro Bot, and God of War Ragnarok.

The issue I have is that the Playstation that we know today is different from the Playstation we had in the PS4 era. Things are also getting progressively more expensive as time goes on.

Once the PC hardware situation improves, I will be looking to build my own one part at a time instead of getting a Pro console.

anast23d ago

@ Divine

The PC situation won't get better. If you want to game, you will need to choose who you want to get screwed by.

lukasmain23d ago

Terrible idea to Stack now in my opinion. The raise is not that much for 12 months, so you might as well wait for the 30% sales at the end of year, because you will be saving more money. That's when I'm going to stack like a mofo. I'll buy like 5 years then

gold_drake24d ago

i hate this mentality of "oh its doing really well, lets make it more expensive"

CrimsonWing6923d ago

Hold onto your butts, boys. Soon the world will get a bump in game prices.

Profchaos23d ago

What's not going up these days

CrimsonWing6923d ago

How much we’re getting paid.

DarXyde23d ago

You gotta love the attitude people had before: "Price hike! NO, THIS IS TERRIBLE, I HATE—wait ... South America? lol ok."

It starts hitting closer to home and now we're worried. It was always a concern and people should have always treated it that way.

Funny enough, Sony is likely losing subscribers with every price hike, and all they're doing is offering the beefed up service to fewer people. Doubtful this offsets the lost subs.

Haven't had Plus in years, and I don't miss it. And frankly, with the way things are going, I just don't see myself getting into the next generation either. Increased reliance on AI, stagnant gaming experiences despite better tech, untenable budgets, increased cost to consumers, tendency to push GaaS, very long development cycles, weak/non-existent digital rights protections, poor global economy, tariff madness.

It's probably a better use of my time to double down on my other hobbies. Can't speak for others, but it wouldn't be surprising if the market crashes because enough people come to the same conclusion.
