IGN | 'Journey' PS4 Review

IGN

Whether you’re playing it for the first time, or revisiting it after three years, Journey remains one of the most powerful games in recent memory. With strong environmental storytelling, powerful music, and an emotional ending, it is absolutely a classic of the modern adventure genre. If you missed it on PS3, do yourself a favor and experience it on PS4. If you did play on PS3, you now own it on PS4, so this minimal graphical update is an excellent excuse to revisit it.

Can't wait to play this on PS4

I really loved how they did the multiplayer. The lack of txt chat and voice chat just made people be themselves through their actions. Very unique experience.

If ya aint played it then buy it!

Conzul3572d ago

It was free for me...cross buy? I had the ps3 version.

Wish there was a way to see the names of the people you're playing with, other than beating it of course. Since there's a trophy that requires you to finish the game from start to finish with the same partner. Would like to send whoever starts playing with me a party chat invite and ask them if they intend to run through the entire game, also to say hey, there's a collectible over here (someone I played with yesterday was too stupid to realize i was trying to communicate with them through the series of circle beeps), wait up, not yet, or something similar.

Obviously if you're playing the game for the first time you should not give the slightest crap about trophies and should just enjoy the wonderful experience that the game offers, but if you've played through it more than once or twice, and want to play more and get the trophies, it's kind of a pain in the ass to go for that trophy.

I briefly thought I'd be able to check my "players met" screen on playstation and see a name there, but I guess ps version of players met isn't like xboxs, it only shows players met in a party unfortunately, unless there's something I'm missing.

obviously you can since it's been out on PS4 for a few days and you must not have played it.

Me too, this game was high on my ps3 back catalog but now that its on the ps4 I'll finally get to experience it.

Journey proved that video games are its own form of art. The amount of variety that thy provide is unmatched. They can be literally anything you want.

Playing tomorrow night for the first time! after many many hours of bloodborne and rocket league this will be a nice change of pace! Dont know what to expect but im excited to find out!

Remeber, lights off and headphones/surround sound on. It's an absolutely stunning experience.

Conzul3572d ago

Careful not to play it too fast or it'll be over b4 you know it. Also turn off your internet connection for your first playthrough - the anonymous co-op-ers can make you feel hurried.
DO. NOT. HURRY.

Most importantly, don't listen to Conzul. Your first playthrough should be just that. Your very own.

Ozmoses3572d ago

I bought it day 1 on PS3. I already downloaded on my PS4 but I've been on a netflix binge as of lately haven't gamed much.

NeonEnigma3572d ago

Loved the first season! Was watching it right when i got my copy of bloodborne so i named my character MurdockTheBlind

Ozmoses3571d ago (Edited 3571d ago )

hahaha that's kinda weird. I just finished up Daredevil like a week ago and really liked it.

Now I'm on like episode 6 or 7 of Arrow and I'm also watching the new BoJack Horsemen season.
