One flip through the velvet-curtained movie theater menu of Rare Replay and it’s instantly apparent that the Rare magic from days of yore is alive and well. With 30 of the best games in Rare’s robust portfolio featured, it’s a wonder that a game like this even exists. And a little over a year ago, it didn’t.
A game that had been thought cancelled or at the very least in development hell, Rare’s Everwild has resurfaced of late – first through comments last week on Jez Corden & Rand Al Thor’s Xbox Two podcast that it was finally “progressing well”. We’ve now had confirmation from Phil Spencer himself that Everwild is indeed still in active development, and is in a playable state.
Showcase or Xbox direct 2025? NGL MS has been revealing better lookin games since Everwild. They shouldn't of announced the game so early (5 years prior)
Either way I'll keep an eye on this game as I'm. More curious than anything.
Idk every time I hear news of Phil goes and plays a game it never turns out good lol.
Crackdown, redfall etc lol.
This is like the madden curse. When ever a team is put on the cover they do bad. Example look at 49ers this year lol.
If this game does bad the Phil curse is real lol
Xbox Game Studios boss Alan Hartman is retiring, and Rare studio boss Craig Duncan is taking his place. His new role as the head of Xbox Game Studios will have him oversee over a dozen studios including The Coalition, Compulsion Games, Double Fine, The Initiative, inXile Entertainment, Halo Studios, Mojang, Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment, Playground Games, Rare, Turn 10 Studios, Undead Labs, World's Edge, and Xbox Game Studios Publishing.
the thumbnail cut off the "retires" part and it made it sound like he was becoming a different person, haha
That's like two layers deep of sell your soul, akin becoming your pimp's operations manager. Headline should have read "In a Rare move...".
Rare, the developer behind pirate adventure Sea of Thieves, has introduced a dedicated dog park to its studio grounds for employees' good boys and girls.
Nice thing they did, but not actually gaming related, not sure why this article was approved. Also strange informing us what game Rare worked on, as if we don't know their legacy.
I went to look at new apartments and saw only dog parks, no kid parks. We're so screwed.
Excited for this one!
Can't wait for this. So looking forward to playing Cobra Traingle, R.C. Pro AM 1&2, and the Battle toad games not to mention all the other great games.
