The situation with this game is just getting stranger.

TheColbertinator3620d ago

PC version? Never saw that coming

Kane223620d ago

its not the full game though.

TheColbertinator3620d ago

Still its surprising anything appeared. Itakagaki once completely denied a PC version

hulk_bash19873620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

I guess they have little faith in the Wii U's install base. Oh well I guess it's good news for PC owners who are interested in this game. I would have preferred a True Ninja Gaiden Sequel over this but that's just me.

freshslicepizza3620d ago

not really, only the multiplayer is coming to the pc. i hope there is something missing in the translation here, none of this makes much sense.

wonderfulmonkeyman3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

I love Ninja Gaiden as much as the next fan, but I feel I must ask: why?
Has there not been enough criticism floating around, lately, regarding over-reliance on established franchises?
I would have thought people would want a new game from him by now, instead...

hulk_bash19873619d ago

It's all about preference man, the only reason I was looking forward to this game at first was because of Itagaki's involvement. But the more I seen of it, I realize I'm just not feeling it. That's not to say it'll be a bad game, just not something I'm interested in.

vladstad3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

omg pc version. im buying it :)

wait the pc version is only multi, what is the logic behind that?

plsburydoughboy3620d ago

The logic is Valhalla owns the game but Nintendo paid to finish it. Nintendo may still be paying Valhalla to polish this up.

Nintendo allowed Valhalla to bring the game to PC, and the two set terms on how this is going to happen. The PC version isn't just multiplayer only, it's free-to-start and 'tailored for the platform'.

Expect the PC version to be very, very limited, compared to the premium Wii U version.

How did this game come to PC but Bayonetta 2 didn't

Metallox3620d ago

It's really not that hard. Nintendo literally owns Bayonetta 2, while the thing with Devil's Third must have been different, probably similar to the deal of SFV between Capcom and Sony.

Spotie3620d ago

Nintendo literally does NOT own Bayonetta 2. They published and funded the game, but the franchise is owned by Sega still.

Segata3620d ago

Spotie they own the code to the game. As Kamiya said, asking for the game on other systems is the same as asking for Mario or Zelda on PlayStation or Xbox. Nintendo doe snot own the IP of Bayonetta but they do own that game.

Metallox3620d ago

@Spotie

I understand. The point is, Bayonetta 2 can't be published elsewhere if Nintendo doesn't approve. This can't apply with Devil's Third, now we know.

PhoenixUp3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

SEGA still owned Bayonetta 2, they just allowed Nintendo to publish it because they funded the title. Same principle applied to Devil's Third.

The deal with Sony and Capcom is different in that Street Fighter V would've been developed anyway just at a later date, while Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third wouldn't have happened period if Nintendo hadn't stepped in and funded them.

DarkBlood3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

"while Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third wouldn't have happened period if Nintendo hadn't stepped in and funded them."

but that is exactly why nintendo owns bayonetta 2 exclusively, they can't make any other version of it due to the exclusive content. and platinum showed no interest in other platforms for it to be release

Metallox3620d ago

"SEGA still owned Bayonetta 2, they just allowed Nintendo to publish it because they funded the title. Same principle applied to Devil's Third."

No, it doesn't. Devil's Third is now releasing on PC, while it is unlikely that Bayonetta is going to appear on any other platform. It's not the same principle.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3620d ago

no Sega CANCELLED the game and dropping it.

Nintendo picked it up.

Sega hold no connections to Bayonetta 2 post Nintendo picking it up

wonderfulmonkeyman3619d ago

Because even though they don't have co-ownership of the IP, they do, by rights of fully funding and publishing it, own Bayonetta 2 as an individual game.
Sega's ownership of the IP cannot change that.
