Gameinformer | Godzilla

Godzilla gives us an intimate look at the gracelessness of a man in a rubber lizard suit. This lumbering titan controls like an oil tanker at sea. He moves slowly – almost appearing to suffer from crippling arthritis with each thundering step he makes. When he faces off again rival kaiju, it looks like two actors with limited vision are aimlessly thrashing around, praying their actions look cool. Perhaps developer Natsume Atari intended to replicate the experience of wearing a Godzilla costume while filming a movie, but no gamer should ever have to endure gameplay this cumbersome and poorly designed.

That's brutal. The score is bad, but the words are as mean is I can ever recall reading.

What is going through Sonys mind to approve this garbage on any Sony System?

Get some standards Sony.

Rimeskeem3620d ago

Godzilla is Japanese......

Also MS allowed the fighter within soo

fanboysmackdown3620d ago

Your comment is extremely childish. At least MS was trying to justify the Kinect....what's Sony trying to justify with this turd?

Rimeskeem3620d ago

Cheer,

IDK they probably arent trying to justify it. I dont see them going out and defending it.

fanboysmackdown3620d ago

So what's your point in bringing up a Microsoft game when it has nothing to do with this turd of a game.

MysticStrummer3619d ago

icheer - What's the point of pretending there aren't turds on all consoles, and have been since the beginning of the home gaming industry?

Sony didn't develop or publish the game, all they did was approve the license to allow it to be released on the system. None of the console manufacturers make any kind of judgement call on the quality or playability or whether a game is worthwhile or not. The only thing devs/pubs have to worry about is passing compliance testing, which just makes sure that the game doesn't crash the system, and that all interactions that deal with the system software are consistent with their policies.

The last thing we want is for console manufacturers to start being the gatekeepers to decide what is a good, and what is a bad game.

In any case, one, or a few bad reviews do not make a game crappy...although this game may be crappy. I had doubts given the subject matter, and the way the devs were trying to approach it.

Ghoul3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

but we gotta take something into perspective here,
this game is for the asian market especially Japan and it could be possible that they like this gamme how it is ?

rainslacker3618d ago

I certainly can't speak for the entirety of the Japanese public that played this game, or has an opinion on it.

From my experience, outside of presentation, they seem to have a similar viewpoint as most gamers worldwide that bad game play makes a bad game.

Just because they can have some unique tastes in presentation doesn't really mean that the game play can suck.

gangsta_red3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Yea, it's pretty unanimous how bad this game is.

By the way, I used the pic of Godzilla from the movie GMK which in my opinion was the best Godzilla film I have seen in a long time.

JWiLL5523620d ago

Sony bashing? Really?

Sony had no involvement in this titles development.

Pick your battles better, sad little console warriors.

fanboysmackdown3620d ago

How did Sony have no involvement when it's a Sony exclusive? Pick your battles.....lol.

4Sh0w3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Cheer, yeah but its not a 1st party exclusive IP so sony has no control over the quality of the game develoment.....its no different than some of the bad multiplatform games that are developed for both X1 and ps4, micro and sony are not in control of it, the only difference here is that this dev likely just chose to cut a low budget exclusive deal with sony while making a cheap Godzilla game for a quick ps4 cash grab.

SilentNegotiator3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

And Yaris was an Xbox exclusive.

What's your point?

rainslacker3619d ago

@4Show

The more likely scenario is that the game was not really meant for a western release, so no version was made except for the systems that the Japanese people actually have. Since the xbox doesn't sell in Japan, there was no reason to port it there just for the western release. It's pretty much the same reason why most of those niche JRPG's are exclusive to 3DS or PS platforms. No money has to change hands to not make a version of the game that isn't likely to return a profit.
