Don't mind tutorials. They should just be optional.

Khajiit863248d ago

I actually love tutorials, no better way to get introduced to the game. A lot of games do make them optional, like Gears they ask you before it starts if you want to choose the path with the tutorial or go straight into battle.

Hard to believe that they didn't add some sort of storage chest to the Witcher 3

bmwfanatic3249d ago

Supposed to be in the next patch.

Wedge193249d ago

I like the approach of evolution of concepts. The base ideas for many of these mechanics were based on hardware limitations, and they should evolve to the capabilities of the hardware today instead of just becoming contrived and expected based on past usage.

Khajiit863248d ago

Im happy with the state of gaming, the evolution is good. If you are unhappy with any of this stuff go play a 10 year old game and you will see how much everything has improved. In another 10 years it will be so much better.

I originally read this article and thought, "no but that game mechanic is good in x game", until I realized you suggested they should evolve, and that is the best thing for gaming in general. Create a better auto-save system, a better tutorial, a better minimap, etc. All good

It's not the ideal situation but Sony does offer them on ps plus. I to would just like a big ass compilation on doscto though

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave46d ago (Edited 46d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

andy8569d ago (Edited 69d ago )

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
