Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 Gets 10 New Screenshots; Doesn't Actually Look Too Bad

Take a look at a few new images from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. They actually don't look too bad.

It looks 'decent', but from what I've seen so far, this looks like a game that should be digital only at a discounted price like $30-40.

It looks fairly low budget. I think the first 'Skate' game by EA looked better last gen.

That said, I'm a lot more interested in its career mode and gameplay.

I just want an authentic skate game, none of this entire side of a building just so happens to be a half pipe crap with random bowls and perfectly places 100ft rails everywhere.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD 2.0 is not worth $60. Why people want a outdated Tony Hawk game like the Pro Skater series I will never know. Underground will forever be the best in the series and it probably won't feel as outdated as HD 2.0 is going to feel.

30 bucks for sure. It looks like a last gen game, which I suppose isn't bad since it is coming to last gen consoles. Just wish game devs would let last gen go.

Those graphics are amazing, the character models however need some tweaking to blend with the environment

Even if you only had a 360 or PS3 from last gen, there were games back then that looked better, including the Skate series.

People might think differently of what is bad and what's not. Imo if you're looking for some Order/Uncharted 4 type of graphics in this game then yes it might look bad.

But I don't think graphics is the thing that makes skating games fun, or am I wrong? Also graphics alone don't make a good game. Gamers are these days so obsessed by graphics only, so I'm not surprised if many pass on this game because if it look bad.

seems like they are trying to ease back into the franchise and don't want to make too large of an investment because the past few didn't do so well.

I wouldn't be surprised if this gets delayed, because I'm not paying full price at the games current state of how unappealing it looks and I really want to fun skating game, but I also am not into looking at some ugly graphics.

I'm sure there's some developer out there that can do it right.

i hope the controls are better than the ones in the HD tony hawks they brought out a while ago, im glad to see they've put the berrics in there. i'd rather see a skate 4 though to be honest.

Why are Tony Hawk still making his games? All the others since THPS2 sucked!

It's like he is not getting the message.

What could work though is a team up game with EA along the lines of SKATE where he can serve in a technical director/adviser role.

This is the last year Activision has the Tony Hawk license according to their old contract. Instead of putting proper effort into a reboot this is simply one last cash grab.
Sorry guys but they're sending out the franchise on a bad note, Robomodo has NEVER produced a title worth playing.

One of the main points being brought up, and it's valid, is that graphics don't really matter for this as it's about the gameplay. Correct...but Skate had great graphics and AMAZING gameplay, much better skateboarding game than THPS imo. You can have both, you don't have to sacrifice graphics for gameplay anymore.
