Photorealistic Character Models Seen in TECHNOLUST Scanlines Shots

VRFocus - Earlier this week indie developer IRIS VR confirmed that it would be bringing its virtual reality (VR) videogame franchise, TECHNOLUST, to both the Project Morpheus PlayStation 4 and the HTC Vive PC head-mounted displays (HMDs) with TECHNOLUST Scanlines. The videogame is set to use Quantum Capture photoscanning technology in order to deliver photorealistic character models. The first images of these character models can now be seen below.

I would still say that Uncharted 4 character models are the closest thing we have to photorealistic models on consoles

developers need to stop throwing the term photo-realistic around so easily. Its not a catchphrase to be taken lightly.

Looking only at the geometry it's pretty close to natural looking. I'd say it's the materials/shaders, and lighting used here that throws it off.

i just watched the vid . .it was cool. i also learned a way that you can actually see 3d without the occulus rift watching that youtube video.

1. while watching the video reduce the zoom size of your browser to 33% by holding cntrl and rolling your scroll wheel down on your mouse/hitting the "-" key on your keybard.

2. place the side of 1 hand in the center of the video touching your monitor.. and place your nose bridge against the other edge of your hand.

3. play with the focus of your eyes and it should all come together as one image instead of 2 and BOOM 3d.. .you wont be able to read font or anything but you can really see the 3d effect.

4. for added effect cut off your lights .. resize your browswer window to fit just the video ..remove all desktop icons and change desktop color to black.

Might also work @ 50% zoom .. but play with the zoom % and depending on your monitor size should work. . im using 24in.

ok i admit even tho this works its not as immersive as i hope the real thing would be . . but i think its due to the zoom size making it slightly blurry

I would say yes it photorealistic. But the lightning setup just sucks and ruins everything.

That is far from photorealistic. We already have games with more realistic looking character models.
