The Best Xbox One External Hard Drive

Speed up your load times and add tons of storage to your Xbox One.

As many gamers already know, a new 500GB Xbox One can fill up fast. You don’t even start with that much space, due to the OS and other data installed to the drive. And then on top of that, modern AAA games are huge.

Every time I read these best HDs for XBO I get annoyed not one site has mentioned my LaCie Porche Design 3TB drive which is inexpensive and also 7200RPM full size inside. Most reliable, fast and silent external drive. Sometimes I've even seen them on sale as low as $100. Also looks nice beside the system and has a white LED on the front for activity.

LaCie harddrive are very nice, you get what you pay for. WD is decent though for the price they havent caused me much trouble over the years. Seagate I now avoid like the plague never had so many externals fail on me, once they hit the year to year and half mark all bets are off with those lol.

bestofthebest3604d ago

best thing I ever did was buy a 4tb external. I got tons of games and still have about 3tb left. I got the one in the picture it works great

TheOnlyMastrx3604d ago

Just installed my 4TB after having it for a couple months, works great. I have the one they show, the WD My Book 4TB. Newegg has had them on sale a couple times for $120 and thats what I paid.

DeadManMMX3604d ago

Haha that one in the picture is the one I have. Got it from best buy and have no regrets. 2TB free with every game installed.

Immorals3604d ago

Every time I go to buy an external, I see a game I want, and then I think 'but I could get that for the same price..'

Now I'm sat with a massive backlog with half my games waiting for install :(

This means they will likely be more open-ended decisions; speed runners may be in for a treat.

Christopher7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

I'll believe it when I see it. I also don't feel Bethesda games are stat intensive as it is, though. It seems pretty basic.

jznrpg4h ago

Bleh I want more stats not less. So lame going for casuals

isarai2h ago

Aren't RPGs SUPPOSED to be stat heavy? So are they leaning even more away from being an RPG? Ugh ☹️

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
