Ah, Ridge Racer, a classic series that is no longer with us. A racing series that once upon a time I held very near and dear to my heart. It was always that arcade racer that I could count on to get me through a bad day or just for blowing away some spare time. I loved just about every game in that series, well expect for a handful of them, I’m looking at you Ridge Racer 6, Ridge Racer 7, Ridge Racer: Unbounded and mostly definitely looking at you Ridge Racer: Driftopia, which has to be hands down the worse Ridge Racer title ever. I was so damned bad that the game never even left beta, and while it was in Steam Early access it was pulled and unplugged as of August 15th, 2014.
This will be the first time the original 1993 arcade Ridge Racer has appeared on home consoles.
I hear rumors that Evercade may also be getting a Namco Arcade cart with RR and Tekken on it. That would be sweet as their previous Namco Console carts have also recently been updated to work on the VS. Previously, they only had the license to the handheld. so the OG Evercade and the EXP and even the Alpha were supported, but not the VS.
Ridge Racer DS was part of a campaign to have the Nintendo DS' touchscreen redefine input, with mixed results.
It's so many games you say? No kidding! here are the best Co-Op games you must play on the original PlayStation
I think it was R4
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Raceeeeeeeeeer!
Sorry lol, i couldnt resist.
On Topic: RRV was the best.
For its time, Ridge Racer 1 was cleary the best.
From a gameplay perspective I think that Ridge Racer 4 was the best one.
Would buy upgraded versions of Ridge Racer 1-5+ RR64 any time.
The newer games were MEH. Lost almost every feature that made the series unique and fun.
