How to Make Easy Money in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4 Post Patch 1.04

Push Square: "He, er, no longer sells sea shells from his Novigrad store. But that's okay, because we've found another little nifty trick that will enable you to maximise your profits in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the PlayStation 4. While this one takes a little longer than the previous exploit, it guarantees you a tidy profit, which will allow you to keep Geralt furnished with fine hilts for his various long swords."

Don't like easy way out tricks. I can make money just buy sales of different items.
Treasure hunts and contracts.

nucky643609d ago

agreed - I'm not even trying to stockpile money and last I checked I had around 18,000.

DEEBO3609d ago

Yeah i'm at 23,000.it's good to have money but i'm more into gear&weapons.

School of the bear gear is so cool.

Alexander1Nevermind3609d ago

Yeah I'm 14k and not even trying to get money. No need for this glitch for me. Im more into finding the witcher gear. Cool to know though.

Baka-akaB3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

I dont think it's even an exploit , you're exploiting a gullible merchant and being a savvy trader there . And it's something anyone exploring the city noticed

it's not a glitch either , the guy is obviously designed to be poor because he buy stuff at retail price , you're exploiting this to benefit . And you still gotta sell tons of wares to merchant with still limited coins to make a profit

SeanScythe3609d ago

The guy I bought the shells from is far from poor now. Lol He's nearly $30k easy. He could retire now.... which this patch has done.

JsonHenry3609d ago

Money was tight for the first few hours. But I'm sitting on a pile of money right now with nothing to buy. Ingredients however can be a slow process when crafting all the upgraded versions of the witcher gear.

SeanScythe3609d ago

Stupid to patch a single player game like this. Either people will use to exploit or not. Why do they care what we do? It's not affecting a leaders board or breaking the game. They should focus on fixing glitches not stuff like this.

xTheMercenary_3609d ago

Then don't download the update. Simple as that.

SeanScythe3609d ago

no it's not as simple as that, the patch fixes issues broken in the game. Patching exploits found are not productive and help no one in SP games. If it's not affecting gameplay or gamebreaking leave it alone.

xTheMercenary_3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

I obviously know it has bug fixes etc. But if you're complaining about the exploit the only way to not stop it from working is to not download the patch. If you're finding it hard to get money in the game you shouldn't be playing, it really isn't hard to get money anyway. I mean i understand what you mean as this doesn't affect gameplay or is gamebreaking but developers will be developers and they'll try there absolute best to prevent stuff like this from happening. Also money in game isn't used much as you find good loot as you progress through the game.

Dustinf113609d ago

Well said "if you are having a hard time getting money than you shouldn't be playing."

I don't get it either.

skulz73609d ago

Money isn't really that useful. I think you really only need money for repairing / crafting and buying runes if you need. You find good gear in the world.

Taero3609d ago

I'm level 13, midway through quests in Novigrad and have over 3k gold and my inventory is literally exploding with mats, I can make items that are 15 levels above me right now with what I have, I have flawless rubies/emeralds etc. just sitting there and a 'junk' tab with so much stuff to dismantle I can't even bring myself to start.

How much gold are we actually thinking we need here?

SeanScythe3609d ago

I have 38k on hand and 95k in coins to trade in. This is a 200+ hour game and not to mention all the DLC coming out. I want to be able to buy whatever I want without farming for money. The beginning of the game was annoying with no cash. I'd often forget where gwent cards where or certain things I wanted to buy once I had the money. Now if I want it I buy it. I also don't have to horde everything I loot to later sale to someone. Being over burdened with tons of loot was a pain.

dumahim3609d ago

I found a merchant who had 68 exploding bolts. I think it cost about 18,000 gold to buy them all.

Thankfully, I made money doing the sea shell thing in Novigrad to cover it, but it brought me pretty low, but I had a ton of junk I never bothered selling until then, which almost got me back to where I was.

Toiletsteak3609d ago

Thank you, i don't normally do this but i needed to, to get to Skellige and i didn't have the 1000.

dumahim3609d ago

Look up the sea shell trick in Novigrad. MUCH faster. Just don't bother going over 60k since it just rolls over at some point and you lose a bunch. You'll be fine with 20k.

This is a great month for me, I have almost bought Wild Hearts a ton of times and same for Cult of the Lamb.

Some really good variety here, and some serious playtime on offer here with all the RPG's. Good luck finishing all these games in a month heh.

Time Splitters is fantastic on the classic side, and glad to see they keep supporting PSVR2 with games

Really grateful I had the good sense to drop pay to play multi-player. It's a rip off.

Einhander1972253d ago

At least when you buy the basic PS+ tier you actually get new games often including AAA games.

This month PS+ got the Star Wars Skywalker Saga, Five Nights at Freddy's:: Security Breach, and Ender Lilies

Xbox hasn't gotten any new games for their basic tier since July and before that it was in August 2023. And if that wasn't bad enough the games they got were just recycled from game pass.

TheEroica253d ago

14 people downvoted and enjoy paying for something millions of pc gamers get for free. Lol.

seanpitt23253d ago (Edited 253d ago )

They could have included the dlc for the Witcher 3 game of the year addition geez..

How many times do they want to keep putting WD2 on

Einhander1972253d ago

PS+ 17 games this month unlike game pass which only offered 7 almost half of them I got years ago on PS+,.and the rest are indies from companies I haven't even heard of.

And the Sony Pictures movie collection will probably get updated with new movies and shows from Crunchy Roll too.

Not bad for a subscription that costs significantly less game pass even before they raised the prices.

crazyCoconuts253d ago

Still not as good as it was a year ago. I think they're walking back on the quality of games just like XBGP is. It's a good thing though...ppl gotta start buying games again.

darthv72254d ago

For me, the redeeming titles are the Time Splitters ones. Sadly i do not subscribe to premium, only extra.

VersusDMC254d ago

Well you can still buy them. PS2 titles range from 5 (the clone wars) to 20 (tomb raider legend). So it may be a good price.

Becuzisaid254d ago

I'd bet these are in the expensive side. People have been wanting some kind of timesplitters remaster for a long time now.

pwnmaster3000254d ago

I thought it was a pretty good month, then I saw time splitter. It made it so much better. I always wanted to play this game but never did

Deeeeznuuuts254d ago

Not the best month for me other than timesplitters!! Can't wait to replay them again, be nice if they have trophies too but no danger of they don't, can't wait!
